HAND, FOOT AND MOUTH🤚🦶🥴

I know no one wants to think about it, but lets talk about it!

It seems Hand-Foot-and-Mouth is going around, so here are some tips on what to look out for:

• Fever and sore throat
• Painful blisters inside the mouth, tongue, and gums
• Flat or raised rash on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet
• Loss of appetite & irritability

Unfortunately, there are no specific treatments, but over the counter pain relievers can help with fever and discomfort.

❗Fluid intake is very important!
❗Avoid spicey or acidic foods that irritate mouth sores
❗Wash hands often with soap and water
❗Disinfect contaminated surfaces

Please contact us if your child cannot keep fluids down, has a fever lasting 3+ days, or if any signs/other symptoms worsen after a few days.

🔴Please note, a rash can show up anywhere, not just the hands, mouth and feet.

‼️Road construction update‼️

Phase 1 of the construction is now complete, and while that's great news, we're not completely done with it just yet.
Phase 2 has begun. If you plan to come down Berl Drive to get to our office, you will have to seek an alternate route, as they have the road blocked off.

Please read below for all the updated information, and plan accordingly for your visits. 😊

If you think your child has strep throat, take steps to relieve symptoms and avoid spreading infection:

Keep your hands clean!
Gargle with 1/4 teaspoon of table salt in 8 ounces of warm water.
Rest, drink fluids, east soft foods & take pain relievers (Motrin, Tylenol) to help ease symptoms.

If a strep test comes back positive, the only way for it to be treated is with antibiotics.

Wondering when you should see the Dr?
❗If the sore throat lasts for over 48 hours
❗High fever
❗No cold signs (no cough, runny nose, sneezing)
❗If you see white spots in the back of the throat/on the tonsils
❗Swollen glands
❗Known exposure and showing symptoms

Keep your babies safe with these sleep tips!

Instead of a blanket, use a sleep sack. Once they start rolling, you should no longer swaddle, but sleep sacks are great!

If your baby starts rolling on their tummy on their own, that's fine! Just always be sure to place them in their crib on their back.

Bumpers, blankets, and pillows should never be placed in the crib.

Just remember the ABC'S!
