Hi everyone, Myckayla here! I am excited to announce I will be the Market’s Dietitian at the Thomas Township Farmers Market! I will have a booth set up so market goers can come for recipe ideas, get education materials, and more.

Microgreens Workshop: Food-First Nutrition + Grow-Your-Own Kit 🌱🥗

Curious about microgreens but not sure where to start? Join us for a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop that combines a practical nutrition lesson + a guided microgreens kit setup—so you leave knowing why microgreens matter and exactly how to grow them at home. Perfect for the general public, and we’d love to see past herb workshop attendees too 🙂

📅 Dates/Time: June 3rd & June 17th | 7:00–8:00 PM
💵 Price: $50 per person (includes guided instruction + take-home kit)

✨ What you’ll learn + take home
🌿 What microgreens offer nutritionally + how to use them daily
🍊 A simple food-first framework for vitamins (and when multivitamins may be helpful)
🪴 A microgreens kit + the confidence to grow and harvest at home
🍽️ Easy, realistic meal ideas to use what you grow

⏱️ What to expect (60 minutes)
1) Nutrition Lesson (Enlightened Nutrition, RDN)
We’ll cover Microgreens 101, the “big 4” nutrients commonly found in microgreens (Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Folate), and how to think about supplements in a supportive, food-first way. You’ll also get a simple handout: Microgreens Nutrition + 10 Ways to Use Them.

2) Guided Kit Setup (Heather Hart from Wild Hart Acres)
Heather will walk you through seeding your tray, watering + light basics, troubleshooting, and when/how to harvest and store your microgreens.

Hey friends! It’s Taylor from Schomaker Farms.

Did you know I have my Master’s in Clinical Nutrition and own a private practice, Enlightened Nutrition? My passion for helping others eat well is what inspired us to start growing produce back in 2020—and I’m so excited to keep that tradition going strong this season!

This year, we’re bringing you even more nutrition workshops, starting with The Salty Truth. I’ll be teaming up with Myckayla Myers, a Registered Dietitian who shares my love for teaching and helping our community thrive. Together, we want to make nutrition approachable, practical, and fun—right here on the farm.
