Why Are Prices Fluctuating?

Great question - every market is different, but virtually across the board prices have either dropped or drastically changed since the end of October.

While it is a complicated answer, we at We Buy Diabetic Test Strips - St. Louis wanted to try to shed some light as to why.

Four major companies control the market for monitoring blood glucose (Lifescan / OneTouch, Roche / Accu-chek, Abbott / FreeStyle, and Bayer).

When there are only 4 players, they can call the shots. Combine this with insurance companies controlling the reimbursements, resulting in the price changes we have seen.

Then, in 2017, the formulary (this is what will be reimbursed to pharmacies) was changed, affecting the most recent price fluctuations.

Through all of this, we are still buying. Prices are lower than 2016, but we are still buying.

As always, if you have any extras, we are more than happy to purchase and put some extra cash in your hand.
