I’m thrilled to announce the very first tattoo apprentice of Last Word Tattoo — Julia Marie.
I first met Julia a little over a year ago at K-Power Yoga Studio, where she introduced herself as an artist. Since then, I’ve run into her and her wearable art at local fairs and conventions more times than I can count. Her work spans from abstract paintings and watercolors to large-scale public murals.
Julia’s signature bleach-painted clothing bridges beautifully into tattooing — adorning the body with expressive, floral imagery that feels alive and personal. With degrees in Art and Communication from St. Ben’s, Julia is perfectly positioned to embody the values that define Last Word: communication, creativity, and consent. She’s a natural fit for our crew.
You’ve probably seen her work around town — Julia’s the artist behind the mural at the corner of the Lady Slipper parking lot, across from Olde Brick House in St. Cloud.
Her creative ambition is to develop a direct-to-skin watercolor approach, using calligraphic brushwork to build tattoo compositions with spontaneity and flow. I can’t wait to see what she brings to the craft.
Keep an eye out for opportunities to get your old tattoos reworked soon — exciting things are coming!
