September is National Recovery Month. đź’ś
Recovery deserves to be recognized, supported, and celebrated — and sometimes that begins with something as simple as the words we choose.
When someone trusts you enough to say, “I’m in recovery,” you don’t need to know exactly what to say. You don’t need to ask for their whole story.
You can simply say:
“I’m glad you told me.”
“How can I support you?”
“I’m proud of the work you’re doing.”
Recovery can take courage. So can asking for help. Our response should never add shame to either one.
Throughout Recovery Month, Taniel’s Trek will continue sharing information that helps our community better understand addiction, recovery, and how each of us can become a safer source of support.
Because recovery is possible.
Because words matter.
And because every life has value. đź’ś
