Acne treatment doesn’t have to mean choosing between skincare OR looking at what’s happening internally.

Sometimes we need both. 🙌

A few of my acne MUST-DOs:

🤍 Use a consistent, evidence-based skincare routine
🤍 Give treatments enough time to work
🤍 Use non-comedogenic products
🤍 Don’t forget sunscreen
🤍 STOP PICKING 😬
🤍 Look at blood sugar and insulin when appropriate
🤍 Prioritize protein, fiber, and whole foods
🤍 Notice whether certain foods consistently trigger you
🤍 Address hormonal issues when they’re actually present

And please...

Don’t start 7 supplements, eliminate 14 foods, and completely change your skincare routine on the same day.

If your skin improves, you won’t even know what worked. 😂

SAVE this one for the next time your skin decides to misbehave.

Still struggling with adult acne even though you’ve tried ALL the skincare? 😩
Sometimes we need to look beyond the skin.
If acne is persistent or looks hormonal, there are a few areas I may want to investigate:
ANDROGENS
🧪 Total + Free Testosterone
🧪 SHBG
🧪 DHEA-S
🧪 DHT — when indicated
BLOOD SUGAR + INSULIN
🧪 Fasting Glucose
🧪 Fasting Insulin
🧪 A1C
IF YOUR CYCLES ARE IRREGULAR OR PCOS IS SUSPECTED
🧪 LH + FSH
🧪 Additional hormone testing based on your symptoms
Why does this matter?
Because sometimes the problem isn’t that you need a stronger acne product.
Higher androgen activity, insulin resistance, PCOS, and other hormonal changes can all contribute to acne.
You don’t need 25 labs because you got a pimple
But if your acne is persistent, suddenly worsening, concentrated around the chin and jawline, or comes with irregular periods or unwanted facial hair...
It may be worth looking a little deeper.
Treat the skin AND look for what may be driving it from the inside.
Save this one for your next appointment.

Still getting acne in your 30s, 40s... or beyond? 🙋‍♀️

Sometimes the answer IS skincare.

But sometimes acne is one of the clues that something else is going on.

Things I think about with adult acne:

🤍 Hormonal fluctuations
🤍 Higher androgen activity
🤍 PCOS
🤍 Insulin resistance
🤍 Stress
🤍 Certain medications or supplements
🤍 Comedogenic skincare/hair products
🤍 Diet in some people
🤍 Genetics

This is why I don’t love treating every case of acne exactly the same way.

The person who needs tretinoin may not be the same person who needs a PCOS workup.

And sometimes...

You need BOTH.

💬 Tell me: Where do you tend to break out the most?

Forehead? Cheeks? Chin? Jawline?

HRT ladies… this one’s for you. 🤍
Help the women who are just starting or thinking about starting.
What was the FIRST positive change you noticed?
😴 Better sleep
🔥 Fewer hot flashes
⚡ More energy
🧠 Less brain fog
❤️ Better mood
🔥 Better libido
Or something completely unexpected?
👇 Tell us in the comments.
And if you’re considering HRT… read what these women have to say. 🤍

Okayyyy... maybe not quite this dramatic. 😂
But when the right treatment is matched to the right person...
Better energy.
Better sleep.
Better memory.
Better recovery.
Better workouts.
Better mood.
Better libido.
And suddenly you’re thinking...
“Where has this version of me been?” 😂
Hormones and peptides aren’t magic AND they’re definitely not appropriate for everyone.
But when they’re medically appropriate and part of a bigger plan?
They can be pretty amazing.
Who else is trying to age like THIS? 🙋‍♀️

Myth: “If it worked for my friend, it’ll work for me.”
If only it were that simple.
One of the biggest mistakes I see isn’t taking the wrong supplement...
It’s taking the right supplement for the wrong person.
The same symptom can have many different causes.
Fatigue might be:
🩸 Low iron
🦋 Thyroid dysfunction
💉 Insulin resistance
🧠 Low B12
😴 Poor sleep
😰 Chronic stress
Same symptom.
Different cause.
Different solution.
That’s why I don’t believe in cookie-cutter protocols.
I believe in finding out why your body is asking for help before deciding what to take.

Progesterone shortage? Here’s what I want women to know.
If you’re taking systemic estrogen and you still have your uterus, progesterone or another appropriate progestogen may be an important part of protecting the endometrium.
So this isn’t a medication I want you randomly stopping or substituting on your own.
Depending on your situation, we may look at:
🤍 Another pharmacy
🤍 Another manufacturer
🤍 Compounded micronized progesterone
🤍 A different route or formulation
🤍 Another appropriate progestogen
What makes sense depends on WHY you’re taking it, your estrogen regimen, your medical history, and how you tolerate different options.
Medication shortages are frustrating.
But they don’t necessarily mean you’re out of options.
SAVE this one—you may need it later.

Estradiol patch on backorder?
Don’t panic. You have options. 🙌
Depending on your individual needs, we may be able to:
🤍 Find a different patch strength or manufacturer
🤍 Switch to a compounded Bi-Est cream
🤍 Switch to estradiol injections
And yes... injections are actually one of my favorite options for the right patient. 💉
Why?
We’re not relying on absorption through the skin, dosing can be individualized, and some women simply feel better with this route.
But here’s the important part:
A patch, cream, and injection are NOT necessarily direct dose-for-dose substitutions.
Changing the route can change how your body absorbs and responds to estrogen, so your dose may need to be adjusted.
Please don’t start doubling patches, cutting patches, or trying to calculate the conversion yourself because someone on TikTok told you how. 😂
If your pharmacy tells you your estradiol patch is unavailable, call your provider.
A shortage doesn’t necessarily mean stopping your hormones.
Sometimes we just need a Plan B.
💬 If you had to choose, would you rather use a patch, cream, or injection?

Here’s an easy tutorial on how to apply vaginal estrogen cream!

Feel free to DM or comment any questions🥰

This is one of the treatments I wish more women knew about.
Many women suffer for years because they assume these changes are just part of getting older.
They’re common.
But they don’t have to be your normal.
