Near-fatal strangulation in domestic violence (DV) is life-threatening and can often
predict future homicide. Strangulation in DV cases is common and often requires specialized exams to document evidence and provide emergency healthcare.

This report reviews the funding used to conduct these exams, analyzes the outcomes of felony strangulation prosecutions, and identifies next steps and growth for the program.
