Movement is one of my 9 Essential Ingredients for a Nourishing Life, and honestly, it is often the one people struggle with the most.

Somewhere along the way, we were taught that movement has to be intense, sweaty, time consuming, or look a certain way to count. The truth is, movement can be a walk around the block, dancing in your kitchen, stretching before bed, gardening, fishing, hiking, chasing your kids, or simply choosing to move your body a little more today than you did yesterday.

Movement is not about punishment. It is about supporting your body, your mind, your mood, your energy, and your overall wellbeing.

Find movement you enjoy. Find movement that fits your life. Most importantly, find movement that makes you feel alive.

What is your favorite way to move?

This lemon tahini dressing has been one of my favorite ways lately to add BIG flavor to a salad while still keeping things simple and nourishing 🍋🥗

Tahini, which is made from ground sesame seeds, brings a creamy texture along with healthy fats, minerals, and plant based protein. I also like adding a small amount of avocado or extra virgin olive oil to create an even smoother dressing packed with nourishing fats your body actually needs đź’ś

Simple ingredients.
Real flavor.
No heavy processed bottled dressing needed.

Healthy eating does not have to be boring or complicated. Sometimes it is just about learning simple swaps and combinations that make your body feel good while still tasting amazing.

Something I’ve been reflecting on lately…

The present moment really is where life happens.

Not in the stress of what might happen next.
Not in constantly trying to “arrive” somewhere.

Just here.
Breathing.
Learning.
Growing.
Noticing what feels good and what no longer fits.

The older I get, the more I realize peace often shows up quietly.

Wholeness isn’t about having it all together.
It’s about staying connected to yourself even on the hard days.

Some days wholeness looks productive.
Other days it looks like rest, tears, boundaries, quiet, or simply making it through the day with compassion instead of criticism.

You do not have to be perfect to be whole.
You do not have to feel good every moment to still be healing, growing, and enough.

Wholeness is presence over perfection 💜 ❤

Feeling overwhelmed? Try the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method. 🌿

This simple exercise can help bring you back to the present moment when your mind feels overstimulated or anxious.

Pause and notice:

5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

The goal is not to “fix” the moment.
Just to gently reconnect with where you are, be here and now.

Sometimes grounding starts with noticing what’s already around you.

Save this for the moments when everything feels like too much.

A little tropical moment in the middle of real life.

Today’s favorite mocktail blended up frozen pineapple, coconut cream, ice, and a splash of coconut milk or club soda for the perfect summer sip. Finished with coconut whip and fresh coconut because life deserves a little fun too.

Not only is it refreshing, but pineapple is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants while coconut provides healthy fats that help keep you satisfied and energized.

Here’s your reminder that nourishing yourself can still feel fun, flavorful, and beautiful. Cheers to summer, balance, and finding joy in the simple things

📢 You don’t have to earn rest.
You’re allowed to take it before everything feels like too much.

Not after burnout. Not when you’ve proven you’re exhausted enough. Now.
Rest isn’t a reward. It’s part of how you keep going. 🤍

It’s unlearning the idea that your worth comes from exhaustion.

You don’t have to shame yourself into functioning better.

Sometimes what looks like “lack of discipline” is actually exhaustion, overwhelm, or a nervous system that’s been under pressure for too long.

When your body is stuck in survival mode, even simple things can start to feel harder:
focusing
replying to messages
staying motivated
following through
resting without guilt

That doesn’t make you lazy.
It makes you human.

Maybe the answer isn’t more pressure.
Maybe it’s more support, awareness, and space to slow down long enough to notice what you actually need. 🤍

Have you ever mistaken overwhelm for laziness?
