🤱 Breastfeeding is natural. That doesn’t mean it always comes naturally👶🏼

Those first days can leave you wondering: Is this latch supposed to hurt? Is my baby getting enough? Am I making enough milk?

A few things to remember 🤍

🌸 Some tenderness with the initial latch can happen, but pain throughout the entire feeding is something we want to address.

🌸 Most newborns breastfeed about 8 to 12 times in 24 hours. Cluster feeding is normal and helps tell your body to make more milk.

🌸 By around day 5, we generally want to see 6 or more wet diapers each day and stools transitioning to that familiar yellow, loose, seedy appearance.

🌸 Babies normally lose some weight after birth, but we want to see that weight begin trending back up, with many babies returning to birth weight around 10 to 14 days.

Most importantly, you don’t have to navigate breastfeeding alone.

At Bloom Pediatrics, we come to you. We can assess baby’s weight, feeding, latch, hydration, and overall health right in the comfort of your home. Schedule a lactation counseling appointment with our lactation specialist: Jocelyn Bonfante, APRN, CLC through our website: bloompedsfl.com

And mama, remember: God chose you to be this baby’s mama. Give yourself grace as you both learn. 🤍

🌿BLOOM PEDIATRICS IS 3 TODAY🎂

Three years ago, Bloom Pediatrics began with a simple calling: to care for children and families with compassion, excellence, and the love of Christ. Today, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude as we celebrate three years of serving our community!

What began as a step of faith has grown into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. Every newborn snuggle, well visit, sick visit, late-night parent question, milestone celebrated, and family who has trusted us with their child’s care has been part of this story.

Through every season, God has been faithful.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 🤍

I’m incredibly thankful for the families who have welcomed Bloom Pediatrics into their homes and entrusted us with the privilege of caring for their children. And I’m so grateful for the people who have prayed for us, encouraged us, recommended us to friends, and helped our little practice continue to bloom. 🌱

As we celebrate 3 years, would you help us reach even more families?

💙 LIKE this post to celebrate with us.
💚 SHARE it with your friends, neighbors, church family, homeschool groups, and local parents.
🌿 TAG a family who may be looking for personalized pediatric care.

Your shares and referrals mean more to a small, local practice than you may realize. They help another family discover a different kind of pediatric care—personal, compassionate, convenient, and centered on caring for the whole child and family.

Thank you for 3 incredible years, Bloom families. Here’s to continuing to grow, serve, love, and BLOOM together. 🌸

To God be the glory for all He has done—and all that is still to come. 🙏

With gratitude,
Jessica Raines, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC
