Nobody put this in the birth plan, did they?

Postpartum prolapse is incredibly common and incredibly under-discussed. If something feels 'different' down there after having a baby, you're not imagining it. And you don't have to just get on with it. 💛

I'm here to help. Schedule a visit at the link in bio.

Your pelvic floor is like a mesh produce bag, and sometimes the mesh gives out a little.

This is like prolapse in your body.

Your bladder, uterus, and re**um sit on a hammock of muscle and connective tissue. When that hammock loses support due to things like pregnancy, birth, menopause, chronic constipation, heavy lifting or genetics, those organs start to descend.

What it can feel like:

🥒 heaviness or pressure by end of day

🥑 a bulge you can see or feel

🍊 leaking, urgency, or never quite empty

🛒 the "tampon won't stay in" thing

What I do about it 👇

We talk. Then we do a serious of exams to figure out which organ is descending, how much, and why. From there: pelvic floor PT, breath and pressure work, lifestyle shifts, and a pessary referral if that's the right call.

A pessary is a small device but a big deal. It sits inside the va**na and supports your pelvic organs, all without surgery and with zero downtime and no drama.

Here's what it can do:

✔️ Take the pressure and heaviness down a notch (or ten)

✔️ Let you exercise, lift, and live without bracing for symptoms

✔️ Buy you time if surgery isn't right yet (or isn't ever)

✔️ Work alongside pelvic floor PT, not instead of it

A few things it's not:

✘ Permanent (you take it out, clean it, put it back)

✘ Painful when fitted correctly

✘ One-size-fits-all (there are several types and shapes for a reason)

✘ A last resort — it's a legit first-line option

If prolapse is affecting your life, this might be the thing you didn't know you needed. If you come see me and I think you may need one, I'll refer you to a trusted OBGYN to fit you with one.

If I could give you one piece of advice for applying va**nal estrogen cream, it would be to ditch the applicator and keep it simple. Trust me on this one. 🤝

Your pelvic organs are supposed to stay put. Sometimes they don't.

Prolapse = when the bladder, uterus, or bowel drops into the va**nal canal.

Sounds disturbing right? Here are a few things worth knowing...

1. Roughly 1 in 3 people with a va**na will experience it

2. The stage of prolapse doesn't always match the symptoms, you can feel wrecked with "mild" prolapse

3. It's not your fault, and surgery is RARELY the first stop

Prolapse is way more normal than anyone talks about and it's treatable. Put yourself first, and settle your worries. Let's work on this together. Visit the link in bio to come see me. 🤍

It's pelvic floor dysfunction and 1 in 3, that's not a rare condition! That's your friend, your co-worker, your sister, or you?!

Pelvic floor dysfunction after childbirth is common, undertreated, and almost never talked about openly.

If you feel leaking, pressure, urgency or pain in that region, please come see us.

Did you know your chest surgery can affect your pelvic floor? Yep, really. The diaphragm, ribcage, and pelvic floor are all part of the same pressure system. When one changes, the others feel it. That's why pelvic PT before a mastectomy isn't weird, it's smart.

A slow, full, diaphragmatic breath massages your pelvic floor, calms your nervous system, and helps your whole core coordinate. And it's free. And you're literally already doing it (just maybe not that well). Come learn to do it on purpose. 😉
