We are so thrilled moisture has finally come to Eastern Colorado! It’s made the open house we had planned a little wet and the roads pretty sloppy. But mud is a beautiful thing! We plan to be back at Hermes Development Center next Saturday, March 20th, if you would like to look through the bulls, we still have a nice selection of Angus and SimAngus available. As most of you know, Lorna is about as critical of our own cattle as anyone and even she admitted this might be one of the most complete sets of bulls we have raised, and one of the best sets she has seen phenotypically (if you know Lorna you know they have to be really good, for me to share that). We hope you come check them out, we are confident you will like them.

Folks – as most of you know, we are excited to be relocating to St. Joe, MO. But downsizing from a 450 head cow/calf operation to an acreage means we have a lot of great equipment that can’t go with us.

We would love it if you would join us on September 19th and pick up a nice gift for your wife like a – loader, feed truck, calf catcher, freeze branding irons, Cattlevacbox, and all kinds of things ranch wives love! We also look forward to visiting with a lot of friends and neighbors before the big move! If you have any questions about the equipment, feel free to call Troy at 719-342-0001. If you want to know if your wife will love you for the purchase, call Lorna.
For all of our seedstock friends, there will be lots of equipment specifically for you, from AI thaw units and semen tanks to freeze brands and scrotal tapes to calf warmers, tattoo and tag guns, ear notch equipment, calving scales, pretty much everything a seedstock operation needs to identify and measure just about any trait! For our eastern CO neighbors, we have tons of panels, gates, fencing equipment, several Gallagher fencers, etc. We hope to see you on the 19th!

Lots we would recommend adding to your short list:
Lot 5 is a Colonel out of 0139 – dam of MCC All Around. 1 to 139 BW to YW, top 1% DOC, top 35% for both feet EPDs, moderate milk, top 2% REA.

Lot 8 also in the spring replacements – 9 CED, top 3% growth, top 1% DOC, top 25% for both foot EPDs, top 2% $M and $W, top 15% $B and top 3% $Combined.

In the fall heifer calves, Lot 296 – Tahoe x Confidence Plus x Daybreak. She has a 101 $Maternal and is the standout of her contemporary group.

Please do not hesitate to call Troy with any questions at 719-342-0001.

We have had several requests for donor prospects. Lot 4 , MCC Supermama 9038 (and her cow family) would be high on our list. Not only does she write a pretty cool number package (0 to 137 spread, 12.8 HP, 21 DOC, 1.09 Marb., .78 REA), but she stems from a cow family that has done a great job. Don't let the short ears fool you.

Her maternal sister by Confidence Plus was a top selling female in the 2019 NWSS Foundation Female sale for $17,000 to Semex. Her dam (Lot 91) has a 336 day calving interval, and nursing ratio of 2@122. And the granddam, Lot 155, (the only cow we didn’t raise in the entire sale) has been a stellar producer.

We hope you can plan to be our guest in person or virtually! Sale will be broadcast on DV auction. Do not hesitate to call with any questions. Weather forecast is 90 degree and no wind (no kidding!).

04/24/2020

One of the most asked about females in the sale is Lot 127, MCC SuperMama 5097. She is about as ideal as you can make one. And her 8 model Sure Fire daughter, 8015 (Lot 38) has also been a favorite. Both sells with bull calves at side by EXAR Monumental and Tehama Tahoe. If you are considering making some show heifers, don’t overlook this cow family! We are still shipping out catalogs, request yours today!

04/22/2020

Today’s sale features include 3 second calf pairs that have donor potential written all over them including a Confidence Plus, Payweight and Commando daughter with EXAR Monumental and Tehama Tahoe calves at side. Lot 59, 60, and 61 (MCC SuperMama 7053, 7112, and 7008) all rank in the top 10% or higher for $Combined, but the reason they make the list is because they are high for $GOOD on being big bodied, heavy muscled, with excellent feet and udders that have transmitted lots of phenotype to their progeny. Make sure to look them up!
