Engineering Leadership Spotlight: Brad Anderson, Engineering Manager
Brad Anderson’s path at Metco Industries shows what happens when technical talent is developed from the ground up.
Brad graduated from high school in 2015 and began his studies at Penn State University. He joined Metco in 2016 as an intern while still in college, starting on the production floor. There he learned compaction press and sizing setup, machine function, and the fundamentals of powdered-metal manufacturing. That hands-on foundation shaped everything that followed.
After earning his degree, Brad became a Manufacturing Engineer. He built deep expertise in automation through direct, practical experience, and that knowledge became a strategic asset for the company. He was instrumental in bringing automation integration in-house, which strengthened Metco’s technical self-sufficiency and reduced its reliance on outside resources.
As his technical responsibilities grew, so did his leadership. Brad advanced to Engineering Manager, where he now oversees all engineering functions. His responsibilities include:
Ensuring successful new product launches
Leading automation integration
Contributing to long-term infrastructure development, including designing the plant layout that will support Metco’s future growth
Brad is quick to credit the strong team of engineers around him, and that team-first approach defines his leadership. By developing the people around him, he continues to expand the department’s capability and its impact across the organization.
