πŸ—£οΈ "Lee Silverman Voice Treatment With Ultrasound Intra-Oral Imaging for Motor Speech Intervention in a Case of Corticobasal Syndrome"
πŸ“– Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups – Gerontology

This case study examines LSVT LOUD as the central intervention for a participant with primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPAoS) mixed with spastic–hypokinetic–ataxic dysarthria secondary to corticobasal syndrome (confirmed as corticobasal degeneration). Using ultrasound intra-oral imaging (UIOI) pre- and post-treatment, the authors captured visible improvements in lingual movement, speed, and precision β€” offering some of the first imaging-based evidence of LSVT LOUD's articulatory benefits.

Gains in loudness, vocal stamina, and pitch stability were maintained at 4-month follow-up, adding to the growing evidence base for LSVT LOUD in atypical parkinsonism populations.
