Half Moon is a nervous system exercise disguised as a balance pose.

One foot grounded. Everything else open to the sky.

The whole point is learning to expand without collapsing to find lift without gripping. Sound familiar?

Teaching cue I keep coming back to: lengthen the side body before you lift. Let the breath do the opening. Don't force the chest forward. The pose opens itself when you stop making it happen.

June's posture. Come work toward it with us 👇

Most wellness content tells you to feel better. Yoga asks something harder.

Yoga Sutra 1.33: cultivate friendliness, compassion, joy, and equanimity and your mind stays clear.

This is our anchor for May and June. It's not a mood board. It's a practice. Not about being relentlessly positive, it's about choosing the quality of your inner environment even when things are uncertain. Even when it's uncomfortable.

Friendliness · Compassion · Joy · Equanimity

Which one of these is the work for you right now?

Your nervous system knows it's June before your brain does.

Something shifts. The patios open. The trees go full green. That tight, tucked-in feeling from six months of Minneapolis winter, it starts to unclench.

This month on the mat, we're following that. The theme is OPENING. Heart and hips lead. Breath leads everything. We're not forcing it- we're letting the body do what it already knows how to do when it finally feels safe enough.

What are you ready to let back in?

I have to say… I’m feeling a little nostalgic.
I miss the old Instagram.

The one where we just posted pictures. Happy things. Random life updates. Bad lighting. Blurry dinners. People we actually knew.

Now it can feel like one big political upheaval, personal brand Olympics, and a competition to see whose life is the most sensational.
And when we live this way, I think we miss something.

The actual beauty.
The in-person beauty.
The “come over in sweatpants” beauty.
The community. The friends. The people who know what your laugh sounds like without needing a caption.

My guess? A lot of us see the people we follow on Instagram more than we see our own friends and family.

And maybe it’s time to change that.

Also, I fully thought today was Friday… and it is absolutely Thursday, so clearly I am qualified to speak on the state of modern life. 😂

Maybe this is your sign to text the friend, make the plan, go to the class, show up in real life.

Because the algorithm is fine.
But your people are better.

Do you miss old Instagram too, or am I just in my Thursday-feels pretending it’s Friday?
