Minnesota Cancer Alliance

Minnesota Cancer Alliance MCA is a coalition of organizations dedicated to reducing the burden of cancer in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Cancer Alliance is a broad partnership of organizations and leaders from across Minnesota. We represent public health and health care organizations, cancer centers, culturally diverse organizations, researchers, nonprofit organizations, cancer survivors, caregivers, and advocates — all dedicated to reducing the burden of cancer across the continuum from prevention and detection to tr

eatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. Our vision is for Minnesota to be a place where:
- Preventable cancers do not occur.
- People who develop cancer are diagnosed in the earliest stage possible.
- People with cancer are given the highest quality, state-of-the-art care available to maximize their chances of survival and quality of life.
- Preventable disparities in the prevention of cancer, and in the quality, experience, and outcomes of care for patients with cancer, are eliminated.
- Full support is given to research about the causes of cancers, prevention, early detection, treatment, quality of life, and palliation.

It's Women's Health Week🎉 and we're asking all women to put their health first and stay up-to-date on their screenings for breast, cervical, colon, and lung cancer🩺

🩷Breast🩷 Mammograms starting at 40
🎗️Cervical🎗️ Pap smears starting at 21 and HPV testing starting at 30
💙Colon💙 Screening (such as a colonoscopy, stool-based, or blood-based test) starting at 45
🫁Lung🫁 Screening (usually a scan) starting at 50 if you have a history of smoking, or smoked within the past 15 years

Each of these recommendations is for if you’re at average-risk for developing any of these cancers, but if you’re high-risk or are experiencing symptoms, talk with your doctor and get screened sooner!

Know your body. Know your risk. Get screened. 💪
