Wow! That was fast. 10 years ago I decided to start doing Henna. Throughout this decade I have met so many incredible people. I’ve listened to countless life stories and created new friendships. Not only with my clients, but other vendors as well. If you know me, I like to talk, and I like to talk with strangers, so you can imagine this job is perfect for me. The diversity of my clients is always a joy, from 3 year olds getting their first Henna Tattoo, to fully tatted 80 year olds planning their last, and everything in between. Chemotherapy crowns, pregnant bellies, you name it, I’ve probably done it.
I’ve had 2 store fronts and a million different pop up booth configurations. I’ve attended Fairs, Festivals, Proms, Birthdays, Receptions, Schools, Grad Parties, and somehow, I fit my entire set up into my car every-time. It’s a game of Tetris only I know how to play.
I’ve ventured out into the mural world as well, you’ll find my work in Sweet Alice, and few friends bedrooms.
Thank you to Claire Nuessmeier’s Mom, Judy, for helping me come up with the name “Happy Henna”
Thank you to my Grandpa for the coolest handmade sandwhich board ever.
Thank you to everyone who has ever visited my booth, it means the world. And an even bigger thank you to all my friends and family that have sat at my booth with me, running to get me foods answering questions when I am swamped, being my personal assistant when I need it most! And finally the BIGGEST thank you to my parents for believing in me. You two have supported me every single step of the way, starting as a 14 year old, there was no way I could’ve done it alone. Thank you for letting me practice on you, thank you for letting me store all my booth supplies at home (it’s a lot of stuff), thank you for running home when I forgot something, thank you for helping me set up, take down, over and over and over again.
Here’s to the next 10 years!
