The natural products industry has lost a true angel, a revolutionary, and a man who gave us so much to be grateful for.
Rest in peace, Terry Lemerond. 🌿
For more than 55 years, Terry helped shape the natural products industry as we know it today. He wasn't simply part of this industry—he was one of its trailblazers.
Long before many of today's most recognized natural ingredients became mainstream, Terry was pioneering them. He helped introduce glucosamine sulfate to the U.S. market and was an early champion of standardized Ginkgo biloba, IP-6, DGL, turmeric and other natural compounds that would eventually become staples on health food store shelves.
His entrepreneurial legacy was just as remarkable. Over the course of his career, Terry helped build several influential supplement companies, including Enzymatic Therapy and PhytoPharmica, before founding EuroPharma and Terry Naturally Vitamins.
But perhaps one of Terry's greatest gifts was education.
Through his books, including Seven Keys to Vibrant Health, his weekly radio program, Terry Talks Nutrition, countless lectures and educational materials, he made complicated nutritional science understandable and accessible to everyday people—and to those of us working in health food stores.
He believed knowledge should be shared.
For retailers like us, Terry wasn't just the name behind products on our shelves. His work helped educate generations of natural products retailers so that we, in turn, could better educate the people who walked through our doors.
Few people can say they helped shape an entire industry.
Terry could.
We are deeply grateful for his curiosity, his courage to champion natural approaches before they were popular, and his lifelong commitment to helping people live healthier lives.
What an extraordinary life. What an extraordinary legacy.

In Loving Memory of Joe Hough
Our community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Joe Hough — a husband, father, friend, neighbor, professor, teacher, and genuinely good man whose presence meant more to people than he probably ever realized.
Joe had a way about him that is difficult to put into words. He was steady. Kind. Approachable. The kind of person you could sit down with and, within minutes, feel as though you had known him for years. He listened without judgment, cared without making a production of it, and had a quiet ability to make people feel seen.
For those fortunate enough to call him a friend, Joe was someone who showed up — especially when life wasn't easy.
He loved music and the outdoors, valued his health, and seemed to genuinely appreciate the life he had built. But nothing compared to the love he had for his family.
His wife, Carrie, and their children, Ayla and Austin, were at the center of his world. The pride and love he had for them were unmistakable.
Joe's unexpected passing is a painful reminder that sometimes the people who make the greatest impact on our lives aren't the loudest ones. They're the people who call. Who listen. Who remember. Who make time. Who quietly stand beside us when we're struggling.
Joe was one of those people.
And now the people he loved most are facing a future none of them could have imagined.
A GoFundMe has been established to surround Carrie, Ayla, and Austin with some of the same care and support Joe gave so naturally to others. If you are able to contribute, please consider doing so. No amount is too small. If giving isn't possible, sharing their fundraiser and keeping this family in your prayers is another meaningful way to help.

There are people we meet in life who leave pieces of themselves behind in everyone they touch. Joe was one of them.

And may Carrie, Ayla, and Austin feel just how many people are standing beside them in the days ahead.
