Yesterday, we celebrated a milestone moment at Hope High School — the very first graduation of our Fort Zumwalt School District custodial vocational training apprenticeship program. Congratulations to Sydney S. and Alan E. on this amazing achievement! Both students showed incredible dedication throughout the six-week program, both in classroom lessons and on the job.

Not only did they complete all assigned hard skills ahead of schedule, but they also spent extra time building the soft skills that are so important in the workplace.

Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed. Staff members in one of the training buildings said it was “the cleanest it has ever been” and told the students they were welcome back anytime.

We were honored to have Ft. Zumwalt Superintendent Henry St. Pierre welcome everyone and share that this partnership is truly a win-win for the community. We couldn’t agree more.

Sydney and Alan, we are proud of you and excited to see what’s next in your journeys!

Big thanks to the Productive Living Board for approving a $133,632 investment in BCI programs serving individuals with disabilities across St. Louis County!

This funding will directly support our Supported Employment Follow Along (SEFA), Vocational Training, and Benefits Planning services—helping individuals build skills, maintain employment, and move toward greater independence.

In total, PLB approved more than $31.7 million in community investments for FY27, supporting more than 4,600 individuals and families across St. Louis County.

We’re truly grateful for PLB’s continued partnership and commitment to expanding opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Big things are happening on the night shift at True Manufacturing Jobs —and BCI vocational training alum Daniel is right in the middle of it.

Daniel has grown into a highly skilled servo operator who not only takes pride in his own work but also looks out for safety and Lean improvements whenever and wherever he can find them. He’s become someone his teammates trust—often the first person others go to when they run into a challenge on their machines.

And when they do? Daniel is always ready to help. He’s a strong asset to the building, a respected teammate, and a great example of what someone can accomplish when given a chance.

Shout-out to William H. for earning May's Quality Catch of the Month!

While processing inbound product for packaging, William discovered a box cutter inside a case of goods that had come from the manufacturer. He quickly identified the issue and removed it from the line, preventing a quality and safety risk from moving forward.

So proud of BCI Senior Director of Competitive Employment Kenda Curativo, who graduated from Vision St. Charles County Leadership last week! She’s already a rock star at work, and this was an enormous extra commitment over the past nine months. We're proud that she dove headfirst into the opportunity to learn and bring new perspectives back to BCI. Way to go, Kenda!

Big cheers for BCI Competitive Employment Advisor Hannah Raines, who graduated from the Vision St. Charles County Leadership Protégé Mentoring Program last month!

Over 12 weeks, Hannah connected with mentors, sharpened her leadership skills, expanded her network, and learned from some of the most respected leaders across St. Charles County.

We love seeing our team members level up, chase growth opportunities, and bring fresh ideas back to BCI. Hannah crushed it, and we’re excited to see where her leadership journey goes next.

May Day is one of our favorite traditions of the year, and today did not disappoint!

One minute, everyone’s working the lines; the next minute, it’s snacks, cold drinks, music, dancing, games, and full-on parking lot party mode at both plants. These celebrations are circled on calendars months in advance, and for good reason. Safe to say there were plenty of laughs and maybe a few new dance moves!

Our Lincoln County team is hard at work on a new pouching job, packaging high-protein 1st Phorm meat sticks into 14-count retail bags on not one, but TWO, busy production lines. Needless to say, everyone at this SQF-compliant plant is always ready for lunch because working with these delicious snacks makes the whole team hungry!

This is a "beefy" new job—and fast hands and strong teamwork have kept it moving at an impressive pace of 9,000 bags per day. We love seeing new opportunities roll in and watching our team rise to the occasion every time!
