Feel Good Friday is a little mix of goodness from the week.

You will find:
✨ Motivation for the days when parenting feels overwhelming
✨Recap of Tip Tuesday to make feeding and development smoother
✨A busted myth because there’s a lot of outdated or confusing baby advice out there
✨A little about Grow Well
✨And a little joy from the week because it’s important to focus on the positive!

If you would like to save one of the slides from the reel, just Comment or DM me and I can send it over!

My goal with Grow Well is simple:
To help parents feel confident, informed, and supported as their baby grows through the first year.

Because most of the time, parents don’t need more pressure. They just need the right information and a little guidance.

Myth: As long as your baby is gaining weight, feeding must be going well.

Truth: Weight gain matters. But it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Why?! WHY?! 😂

Weight gain is an important part of assessing how a baby is doing, but it’s not the only piece of the feeding picture.

A baby can be gaining weight and still be experiencing challenges with:
✨Latching or bottle-feeding
✨Coordination of sucking, swallowing, and breathing
✨Comfort during or after feeds
✨Feeding efficiency
✨Oral-motor skills

Parents can still have concerns even when someone says, “But baby is gaining weight!”

Your concerns are still worth exploring. Feeding is about more than just the number on the scale. It’s also about how your baby is feeding, how they’re feeling, and how the experience is going for both of you.

“But you don’t take insurance… isn’t that more expensive?”

It’s a completely fair question.

Recently, a mom told me that what she paid out of pocket for her baby’s care at Grow Well wasn’t far off from what they had already been paying in copays at a large healthcare system.

That really made me think about why I intentionally chose a private-pay model.

At Grow Well, I’m able to spend the time needed to truly get to know your baby and your concerns. We can focus on what your baby needs, rather than trying to fit everything into an insurance-driven treatment model.

And one of the things I love about private pay is knowing what you’ll owe before you book. No guessing what your insurance will cover. No waiting to find out whether a deductible applies.

More time, more flexibility, and more individualized care.

I also understand that private pay is not attainable for every family. That’s something I take seriously.

But it is a decision I feel is best for my practice and the kind of care I want to provide.

If cost is a barrier, I’m always willing to talk with families about what might work on an as-needed basis. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to accommodate every situation, but I don’t want someone to assume they can’t reach out without asking.

Grow Well also accepts HSA/FSA funds and can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

I believe that getting help for your baby shouldn’t have to feel like navigating a maze.

Tip Tuesday: Look for the early hunger cues!

Crying is actually a late hunger cue. By the time your baby is crying, they may already be frustrated and have a harder time settling in to feed.

Instead, watch for those earlier signs:

✨ Stirring or waking from sleep
✨ Bringing hands to mouth
✨ Turning their head or rooting
✨ Opening and closing their mouth
✨ Smacking or licking their lips

Tip: You don’t need to wait for the clock to tell you it’s time to feed. Your baby’s cues are communication!

Learning to recognize these early signals can make feeding feel calmer and more responsive for both of you.

❤️ Save this post so you can come back to it, and share it with a new parent who might need it!

Sometimes progress starts with something so small it almost doesn’t feel like progress at all.

One question.
One new strategy.
One attempt.
One step forward.

You don’t have to have the entire journey figured out today.

Just take the next step.

Just checking in to make sure you aren’t Googling something about your baby again…and if you are, you’re definitely not alone.

From feeding and sleep to development and all the little “Is this normal?” questions that pop up along the way, parenting a baby can come with a LOT of questions and uncertainty.

And while Google can give you a million different answers, this can get even more stressful. Sometimes what you really need is someone who can help you understand your baby and what’s going on in your situation, not give you more to worry about.

You don’t have to figure everything out alone.

That’s why Grow Well is here. My goal is to provide guidance, education, reassurance, and support as you get to know your baby and navigate that first year.

A little Feel Good Friday goodness to wrap up the week.

Thank you to ARD CAFE for my delicious drink that nearly matched my scrubs! 😊

Because parenting comes with plenty of questions, second-guessing, and “Am I doing this right?” moments… but there’s also a lot of good worth noticing.

This week’s roundup includes:
✨ A little encouragement for the days that feel overwhelming
✨ A Tip Tuesday recap to make feeding and development feel a little easier
✨ A baby myth we can officially put to rest
✨ A peek at what’s happening at Grow Well
✨ And, of course, a little joy from the week

Save something that’s helpful, send it to a parent who might need it, or just take a moment to celebrate the little wins.

That’s really what Grow Well is about: helping parents feel confident, informed, and supported as they get to know their baby and navigate the first year.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need good information, support, and sometimes a little reassurance along the way.

And if there’s a slide in this reel you’d like to save, comment or DM me and I’ll send it your way!

Myth: Your baby should be sleeping through the night by 3 months.

Why?! WHY?! 😂

Truth: “Sleeping through the night” looks different to different people and it happens at different times for babies.

There is so much pressure around infant sleep, and one of the biggest misconceptions is that there’s a specific age when babies should be sleeping through the night.

Babies develop sleep skills at different rates, and waking overnight is still normal for many babies well beyond the newborn stage. Sleep can also change with growth, development, feeding needs, illness, and so many other factors.

So if your baby isn’t sleeping through the night, it doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing something wrong or that your baby is doing something wrong.

Instead of chasing a magic age or comparing your baby’s sleep to someone else’s, let’s look at your baby, their needs, and what might help your whole family get more rest.

Your baby isn’t behind just because they’re not sleeping through the night.

Apparently, I like to keep myself on my toes. 🙄

Sometimes you order something, completely forget about it, and then get to experience the joy of discovering it all over again. 😂

This time it was just gloves for the office… but honestly, Past Me came through. 🙌

Anyone else get surprise packages from themselves?

Skin-to-skin isn’t just about touch, it’s a full sensory experience for your baby.

When your baby is nestled against you, their developing nervous system is receiving input from so many senses at once:

Touch: Feeling your warmth, skin, pressure, and gentle movement.
Smell: Taking in your familiar scent.
Hearing: Listening to your voice, breathing, and heartbeat.
Vision: Looking at your face and taking in your expressions.
Taste: Especially during breastfeeding, familiar smells and tastes can support feeding behaviors.
Movement & body awareness: Being held and gently moved gives your baby vestibular and proprioceptive input, too.

And the beautiful part? Your baby is experiencing all of this at the same time.

That combination of familiar, predictable sensory input can help support regulation, bonding, connection, and your baby’s developing nervous system.

So when someone tells you, “You’re just holding the baby,” remember that you’re actually giving their brain a whole lot of important information.
