Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by using a hands on or hand off method (I use the hands off method) and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high,

we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. A Reiki Healer can heal in person or by distance. Reiki is performed by drawing certain symbols then directing the energy to where it's blocked in the body to help it flow again. When a Reiki Healing is done by distance, a specific symbol is drawn and the Reiki {ractitioner will focus on the person's picture and name while doing the healing. Then, the Reiki Practitioner will scan the body and feel for any imbalances. And yes imbalances of the person being healed by distance can still be felt even if their not in there with you in person! Then one of the four healing symbols will be drawn, depending on what is needed in the body or chakras that are blocked. The Reiki Practitioner doesn't use his/her own energy, it flow through them from the Universal Life Force Energy from the Source/Universe/God. In person, the same technique will be done. However, with no need to draw the distance symbol. The Reiki Practitioner will first scan the body and chakras (I use a hands off method, but both hands on and hands off methods are used in Reiki) to feel for any imbalances. Then one of the four healing symbols will be drawn the Universal Life Energy will flow through the Practitioner to the client. A Reiki session can last from 10 minutes up to 1 hour depending on the individual clients needs. It's a beautiful and painless way to heal the body through the Universal Life Force Energy.
