Wind in my hair, pride in my Finnish heart, and lovely meet up with Captain Zach and Sakura.

First building I saw? Finland/Suomi Hall. Cue emotional accordion music. There’s a real Scandinavian soul in this town – Finns, Swedes, Norwegians – all drawn to the fish, fog, and possibly the fika.

Megler Bridge: Didn’t cross it, but admired it like a steel runway to the sky. 4.1 miles long – longest continuous truss bridge in North America. Big, bold, and windy.

Astoria Column: Beautiful. 125 feet tall. 164 steps. I waved at it respectfully from the bottom – because I already did leg day on the ship and I’m not climbing anything without snacks and a medal.

Lewis & Clark wrapped up their wild west adventure here in 1805. I get it – scenic, historical, and just dramatic

San Francisco in a Day: 3 Modes, 1 Chilly Bay 🌁

Walked 5.5 miles through SF's iconic spots into town: Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, Civic Center, Haight-Ashbury, and Golden Gate Park. Then hopped on a double-decker bus and also cruised the bay by boat.

🌉 Golden Gate Bridge: 1.7 miles of Orange Beauty, opened in 1937, towers reaching 746fr.

🏛️ Palace of Fine Arts: Built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, this Greco-Roman rotunda was so beloved, it was built to ladt.

🏮 Chinatown: Established in the 1850s, it's the oldest in North America, rich in culture and history.

🎸 Haight-Ashbury: Ground zero for the 1967 Summer of Love, where counterculture thrived.

🦀 Fisherman's Wharf: Once a bustling hub for Italian fishermen, now a seafood lover's paradise.

🚢 Alcatraz: Circled the infamous island prison—glad it was just a tour!

Despite the chilly breeze, it was a day filled with history, sights, and unforgettable experiences.

¡Antigua in a day!
7 hours of adventure, 3 hours of walking, 2 mangoes, 5 churches, 47 cobblestone stumbles, and one VERY persuasive jade vendor later… I survived and sainted my way through this colonial gem!

From the grandeur of La Merced (with a fountain so big you could row a boat through it—apparently, they did!) to the whispering ruins of St. Augustine Monastery, every stop was a portal through time.
The Cathedral of San José dazzled with purple drapes and golden saints, while I tried to blend in with the devout… and dodge mango juice dripping on my shirt.

Cobblestone wisdom of the day: stilettos are for sinners.
