I’ve been thinking about how much becoming an author has meant in my own life.
Years ago in Sacramento, I began putting some of my ideas, experiences, and perspectives onto the page. I couldn’t have known then where that journey would lead.
Today, having been an author in five books, I realize that writing has been so much more than publishing words on a page. It has been a meaningful form of self-expression and a way to explore what matters to me, share what I’ve learned, and contribute something that may resonate with someone else.
And every book started with an idea.
That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about visiting Sacramento and being part of this event!
Afternoon Tea for Aspiring Authors.
This is for the person who has thought:
“I think I have a book in me...but I have no idea where to begin.”
You don’t need a manuscript. You don’t need a title. You don’t even need to know exactly what your book will be.
Just bring your curiosity.
Together with published authors and a self-publishing expert, we’ll explore the journey from inspiration to publication and give you space to begin discovering the story, expertise, or message you may want to share. And then celebrate and plan next steps!
☕ We’ll begin over afternoon tea.
📚 We’ll explore, learn and connect.
🥂 And we’ll finish with a champagne toast to what might be next.
Saturday, September 12 | 2–5 PM (Mather address given on registration)
