What a great night at the Marion Berries Baseball Club Healthcare Appreciation Night! ⚾💙

Our very own Dr. Janelle Meyer threw out the first pitch (and crushed it!), our CEO Jeron Jackson and his son Jesse delivered a beautiful rendition of the national anthem, and our team loved meeting so many healthcare workers, caregivers, and community members at our booth.

Many of the steps that help patients access care happen behind the scenes. Prior authorizations, insurance verification, financial counseling, billing, and coding all play a critical role in the patient experience.

The teams responsible for this work make up OSG's Revenue Cycle department. Their efforts help patients navigate some of the most complex parts of healthcare and remove barriers to accessing care.

While much of their work happens behind the scenes, it plays an important role in helping patients focus on what matters most: their health and recovery.

New research shows that patients receiving care in independent community oncology practices experience longer survival compared to national benchmarks.

In this real-world analysis of nearly 98,000 patients:
• Patients treated for metastatic breast cancer had +8 months median overall survival compared to national benchmarks
• Patients treated for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer had +2 months median overall survival compared to national benchmarks
• Survival rates at 1, 3, and 5 years were consistently higher

For patients with cancer, additional time matters. These findings offer important new evidence of the high-quality outcomes delivered in community oncology settings.

The study was commissioned by the Community Oncology Alliance and independently conducted by Flatiron Health. It was released today at the 2026 Community Oncology Conference in Orlando.
