Just a little history…
Walking into my first Ashtanga Yoga class back in 2008, having no previous experience, the connection between mind, body, spirit was immediate! I have a dedicated, disciplined, and daily practice which has been healing, transformative, and a grounding force in my life. This continues to evolve with each passing day. My work is in both the 8-limb

practice of traditional/classic yoga philosophy, and in the Ashtanga Vinyasa Asana (posture) practice. I received my training and certification from 3b Yoga in Provo, Utah, in 2012. I also received certification in teaching restorative yoga through Sage Hills Healing Center in Cedar City, Utah, in 2014. I have been teaching and assisting classes since 2011 at a few different Yoga Studio’s across the West! In addition to my years of practice, I have attended Ashtanga Yoga Confluences and several other workshops as well as in-depth study and knowledge of Patanjali’s yoga sutras. I am beyond thrilled to be working at my beautiful at-home-space in Green River, Wyoming. I offer private Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga classes in my space as well as restorative, gentle, and yin yoga sessions. I also offer other energy healing methodologies such as Reiki, sound therapy, and meditation of all types. In my private yoga sessions, I provide an intimate space where you can dive as deeply as you choose into the practice, exploring the intoxicating energy Ashtanga awakens within your mind, body, and spirit. The energy of the classes I offer is both interactive and intimate with hands-on adjustments and cues. You will receive personal instruction in a private setting, always catering to what your body needs. In my downtime, if I’m not spending time with my family, I’m relaxing with my dog reading a good book, or spending time outdoors in nature camping and hiking.

After 12 years in talk therapy, Maya finally cried with her whole body.

Not the polite kind. The kind where her shoulders shook and her diaphragm released and something deep in her belly let go of a story she'd been carrying since she was 6.

She wasn't in a clinical office. She was in her living room, on a Sunday morning, in a recorded somatic practice with one of our faculty.

This is what we hear over and over from Embody Lab members:

Talk therapy is necessary. But it's not always sufficient.

Yes!

There are 3 nervous system states. Most of us only recognize one: fight or flight.

But Dr. Stephen Porges' polyvagal theory revealed something profound:

VENTRAL VAGAL - safe & social. Curious. Connected. Open. The state where healing happens.

SYMPATHETIC - fight or flight. Mobilized. Activated. Often labeled "anxiety."

DORSAL VAGAL - shutdown. Numb. Disconnected. Often missed because it can look like "calm."

Healing isn't about staying ventral all the time (that's not human).

It's about flexibility, the ability to move between states without getting stuck.

Which state do you live in most? No judgment, just curiosity.
