A quick story. I got a text from a friend the other day

“Can we schedule a phone call later today?”

Ugh! Those messages give me an initial gut reaction like I’m being called to the principal’s office. Then I take a deep breath, center, and remind my spicy brain to calm down.

And sure enough, this person was just having a bad day and wanted to talk to a friend for a few minutes. We can’t always control our reactionary response to things, but we can all have tools to return to a grounded center.

Regardless of how crazy busy I get (and these past few months have been record setting for busy-ness) I still take the time to breathe deeply each day. Whether it’s sunset in the Rockies (pictured) or 2 extra minutes in the shower, there is always a way. Always.
