I would argue that recovery and rest days are just as important—if not more important—than workout days.
We live in a world of constant "go, go, go." The brain rarely rests. The body rarely rests. We're constantly in overdrive. Then we add in our vigorous workout schedules because, let's be honest, none of us want to gain five pounds or lose the little bit of muscle definition that's finally starting to show.
But rest days are crucial.
I've found that my recovery days are often the most invigorating days for both my body and mind. My mood improves. My mind feels sharper. My anxiety and stress are lower. My body feels better. My mobility improves. And I come back stronger for my next workout.
A rest day doesn't mean being sedentary or lazy. It can look like a walk outside, stretching, mobility work, light movement, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do for your body isn't to push harder—it's to recover better.
Embrace the beauty of calm. Your body will thank you for it. ✨
