Hey there! Laser season is upon us!
Many of you have already booked your annual laser series, but some of you still are wondering what these acronyms we talk about are.
IPL stands for intense pulse light. It jumps into the skin to find melanocytes and break them up into small fragments, pulling them to the surface to be sloughed off.(Great for sun damage)
Then there is our big hitter, PIXEL. Pixel is a laser device that uses fractional laser technology to improve texture, reduce wrinkles, and fade scars.
How it works is it breaks a single laser beam into thousands of microscopic pixel-like dots.It creates tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue untouched. The untouched skin helps the treated areas heal very fast. The healing process triggers your body to produce new collagen and elastin, making skin firmer and smoother.
We have had both laser options in our clinic for over a decade and LOVE them. They are the gold standard when it comes to taking off that dead dull sun damaged skin from summer and helping our skin reset.

NOTES: for IPL you MUST not have had direct sun exposure(laying out) for at least 2 weeks. We want your surrounding skin to be fairly pale in comparison to your sun spots. These lasers would also not be suitable for dark skin. We have AEROLASE for darker skin Fitzpatrick.
