I've been MIA for awhile and this is why. My spoons have been very low and I needed to pull back so I could take care of myself and this baby to be. I plan to share more about my experience of being fat and pregnant as I feel able to. Sharing a couple pics taken about two months ago as well as some recent pics from our amazing baby moon to Europe.
Both getting (and being) pregnant has been pretty hard. Struggling with infertility, endometriosis, debilitating morning (i.e. all day) sickness, mental health, and medical and systemic fatphobia has not made this an easy process. I am also so lucky and incredibly grateful because I am doing pretty well now. My husband Tom has been nothing short of amazing. I also have to shout out my fat activist friends and colleagues for their support and guidance - especially in the early and difficult days: Maayan Simckes, , Body Liberation with Lindley Ashline & The Body Love Shop, and more. I am beyond grateful to my family and friends who have been with and supported me every step of the way.
Lastly, I am holding space for those who never want kids (I see you!), those who want kids and aren’t able (I feel you 💔), and those who already have children (I’ll be turning to you).
