Finding a therapist is already hard enough without needing a graduate degree in therapy acronyms.

CBT? DBT? ACT? EMDR? IFS? Somatic? Schema?

Lovely. Terrifying. Very searchable if you already know what any of that means.

So we made a Therapy Matcher: a quick, friendly tool that helps you explore which therapy styles might actually fit your brain, body, values, and current chaos level.

Take the quiz. Get your top matches. Learn your therapy archetype. Send it to the friend who has been saying “I should probably find a therapist” since 2019.

Not therapy. Not a diagnosis. Just a friendly starting point for finding words, options, and maybe a little hope.

We were tired of being told “just deal with it,” so naturally we turned it into an acronym. It's the DBT way!

Welcome to MAP:
🗺️ More Acronyms Please
—a weekly series where we turn memes, emotionally chaotic life experiences, and suspiciously relatable internet behavior into actual coping skills.

This week:
D.E.A.L.

Featuring:
📱 unread text anxiety
🧠 Victorian heartbreak
🛋️ plans getting cancelled
😎 emotional regulation (but make it meme culture)

Turns out DBT skills work surprisingly well when they sound like something your group chat would say.

👇 Now it’s your turn:
What does D.E.A.L. stand for in YOUR life?

Wrong answers encouraged.
Best submissions may appear in next week’s MAP.

For the next six weeks, the Monday skills group is covering our Internal Family Systems module. If you’re unfamiliar with IFS, it is an evidence-based therapeutic form of parts work created by Richard Schwartz and is used around the world to gain a better understanding of ourselves and our internal processes through the lens of the parts that make up the whole of the Self.

Two big components of IFS are the theory that multiplicity of the mind is not just for people dealing with dissociative identity disorder (DID), but for all people, and that we have no bad parts. All our parts are trying to keep us safe with the only methods they know how.

IFS teaches us to embrace and unburden our parts so they can let go of maladaptive coping mechanisms and take on roles better suited to support our goals and live within our values.

DBT with Friends is brewing something new ✨🧙‍♀️

Mental health support groups with a magical twist! We’re blending evidence-based DBT skills with somatic ritual and playful spirituality to create a unique space for healing, growth, and community.

These groups welcome women and non-binary folks who want to explore emotional resilience, mindfulness, and self-compassion while weaving in ritual, symbolism, and embodied practices.

It’s therapy-inspired support with a cauldron of magic—come stir it with us. 🕯️🌙💜

Healing is hard and it hurts, but is so worth it. Once you begin the journey, there’s no going back to life as it once was.
