My Natural Healer A complementary and alternative healing website Welcome to our community for healing! My name is Laura, the creator of My Natural Healer.

I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer and Hashimoto’s disease at age 28. Although my physicians told me I was cured of cancer and autoimmune disease by surgically removing my thyroid (total thyroidectomy), I found myself one year later still not feeling myself. Little did I know my healing journey was just beginning. I have learned over time that wellness is not just about physical health

– it is a combination of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Our website was created in hopes that it may help you in your own healing journey. As I share my own healing experiences, I will provide resources for you to do your own homework, learn about different healing modalities, as well as help connect you to healers around the world. I’m not advocating that healing should be done without modern/Western medicine, but I’m absolutely recommending you do your own research on integrating complementary, natural, alternative and holistic medicine to help you in your own healing and health maintenance. Grief taught me this: love doesn’t stop needing somewhere to go. So we give it somewhere.

Every year on Monica’s birthday, we eat pineapple pizza. We laugh. We tell the story of how she used to get my husband, a proud New Yorker, absolutely riled up about it.

And for a little while, she doesn’t feel gone. She feels present.

If you’ve lost someone, I offer you this:

Find the thing that was so “them” it makes you smile just thinking about it. A food. A song. A terrible joke they told every single time. A place they loved.

And do it. Every year. On the day that matters.

Not to hold onto grief, but to hold onto them.

That’s not just memory. That’s healing. 🤍

PS - full disclaimer, my husband says he loves Monica enough to allow the pineapple pizza in our house on this day, but loves himself enough not to eat it 😂. The rest of the family eats it wherever they are.

Pro tip: start with regulating the nervous system with any kind of healing you’re trying to address. The parasympathetic nervous system, or rest and digest mode, promotes all healing.

It’s “what is the bodymind trying to tell us, and how can we balance and improve coherence and communication?”

What no one tells you about why you’re still exhausted — even when your labs come back normal:

Labs measure what’s measurable.

They don’t see the emotional charge stored in your liver since 2019.
They don’t see the survival pattern your nervous system locked in after that thing happened.
They don’t see the communication breakdown between your gut and your brain that started when the stress became chronic.

This is the terrain where I work as a medical intuitive.
