If you are raising a child under three years old, consider joining us for this five-week long caregiver workshop.

We'll meet every Tuesday morning this month and visit about child development while we play in the Story Room. Bring yourself, your babe, and your questions for our Community Resource Pros.

Registration required. Free, as always.

Supported by the Family Place Library grant, this social program is held in our Story Room for families of children 3-36 months old and offers an hour each week of community education with a childhood-ed professional.

The way he coughed before bed.
Whether she seemed a little quieter today.
If you were too short, too distracted, too tired.

There’s always something…
a cup left out
a backpack half-packed
a worry that won’t stop nagging

And no one can sees this part.

Where your body is finally still,
but your mind keeps moving.
Running through tomorrow.
Replaying today.
Holding all of it,
like if you let go for even a second,
something might fall apart.

Even in the stillness, you’re still on.

Because motherhood is never just the doing.
It’s what we carry.

The invisible list.
The constant remembering.
The quiet weight of loving people so deeply
you’re always scanning for what they need next.

And some nights, it’s heavy.
We don’t really talk about that enough.

This constant, unseen, always-on kind of love.

But even when no one says it,
it counts.
It matters.

We'll provide a menu of family-friendly tunes for you to choose from. You decide--will you dance or sing? Will you be the rock star of the day and do both?

The Weight She Carries: The Silent Strength of a Working Mom

Before the sun rises, she is already moving. The house is still, the world asleep, yet her hands are already busy with the details of another long day. She packs lunches, brushes tiny tangles from sleepy hair, and answers emails in her mind while flipping pancakes. She is the quiet rhythm that holds her home together.

She wears many names in a single day: employee, mother, wife, friend, daughter. Sometimes she wonders if her own name has been lost in the noise. At work, she must be sharp, capable, and composed. At home, she must be gentle, patient, and endlessly giving. Between those two worlds, her heart aches for rest.

There are days when she feels the weight of guilt pressing hard against her chest. She is thankful for her career, for the purpose and provision it brings, yet she cannot silence the ache when she misses the school play or forgets to sign the permission slip. She tells herself she will do better tomorrow, even as her strength begins to run thin.
