When I was in elementary school, my mama was murdered. Because of that experience, my relationship with true crime has always been different than simple curiosity or entertainment.
🪷I understand what it feels like when tragedy becomes a story people consume, discuss, speculate about, or move on from… while the people who loved that person continue carrying the reality of it every day.
That’s part of why this reflection mattered for me to write.
