Theta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is an international sorority of Registered Nurse Professionals. Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

Theta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., is a nonprofit 501(c)3 professional nursing sorority that promotes health initiatives within the San Antonio communities. is an international nursing organization comprised of professional nurses and student nurses, both males and females. It is a multicultural organization. The organization was founded on October 16, 1932, at Freedmen's Hospital (n

ow Howard University Hospital) in Washington, DC. The Sorority has more than 8000 members. There are over 125 graduate chapters and 45 undergraduate chapters located in 33 states, District of Columbia and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Theta Eta Chapter was organized December 8, 1984, in San Antonio, Texas by Mrs. Carol Butler and the following charter members; Shiela Clayburn, Charla Hutchens, Margaret King, Kathleen Lindo, Patricia Osborn, Rosie Palmore, Vivian Pankey, Sharlene Prescott*, Elizabeth Scott, Rochelle Staten, and Wanda Sykes.

👟💚💛 Our First GotSneakers Collection Is In! 💛💚👟

Theta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is excited to celebrate our first collection of donated sneakers for our GotSneakers Fundraiser Program!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has donated and supported this effort. Every pair of sneakers helps us raise funds to support the work of our Scholarship Committee while also giving gently worn sneakers a second life and keeping them out of landfills.

And we’re just getting started! 👟

We are continuing to collect new and gently worn sneakers throughout the year. Clean sneakers in good condition are greatly appreciated, and name-brand athletic shoes are especially helpful to our fundraising efforts.

💚💛 Service for Humanity in Action! 💚💛

The Theta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated® was honored to partner with the New Braunfels (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated® for the NBAC Cares Health Social, part of the Healthy Kappa Initiative.

Our registered nurses provided complimentary blood pressure screenings and health education focused on high blood pressure, ZERO Prostate Cancer awareness, and breast cancer awareness.

Our goal is to encourage health assessments and pre-screenings while empowering community members to take proactive steps toward healthier lives. Early awareness and detection can save lives!

Scholarship Opportunity:

If you are a current RN student (or know of one) who meets the requirements below, please message me, and I will forward the application via email.

Please read the requirements carefully and in it's entirety:

Pre-requisite courses must be completed, and the student is in pursuit of an entry level registered nurse (RN) program. Students are eligible to apply when they meet the following criteria:
☐ Currently enrolled in an accredited entry-level Registered Nursing (RN) program.
☐ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
☐ In good standing with your college or university.
☐ Provide evidence of Service to Humanity with volunteer/community service hours (including your role and hours served).
☐ Have at least one semester (16 weeks) of nursing education remaining after receiving the scholarship.
☐ Be a resident of San Antonio or live within 50 miles of the surrounding area.

Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,000. Applications are evaluated for completeness, supporting documentation, eligibility, and overall application quality. Scholarship recipients are expected to partner with Theta Eta Chapter in a community service event prior to receiving the monetary award and are encouraged to attend the scholarship presentation in December 2026.
