Courtney Pierce received a $1,333 grant from the foundation to obtain a Synergetic Play Therapy certification, which will allow her to work with children in need of healing. Courtney is currently a Master of Social Work graduate supervisee, working to gain the necessary hours for independent licensure. Furthermore, Courtney has more extensive experience in the healing arts through the practice of yoga. She has yoga teacher training and as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) has taught trauma-informed, Vinyasa, and Power Yoga classes. Courtney is also certified in trauma-informed yoga and has worked to provide yoga to men of color, many of whom are survivors of violence, and do not otherwise have access to yoga.
