🏫🎓 Brackenridge High School just gave San Antonio something to celebrate!

For the first time in SAISD history, a traditional neighborhood high school has earned an A rating from the Texas Education Agency! 👏

Brackenridge High School raised its accountability score from 83 to 90, and the accomplishments don’t stop there!

🎓 Approximately 40% of graduates earn industry certifications.

🎓 Nearly 11% graduate with associate degrees.

🎓 Students are getting a head start on college and careers before even leaving high school.

And here’s what makes this achievement even more impressive: approximately 84% of Brackenridge students come from economically disadvantaged households.

With so much attention on the challenges facing public education, it’s refreshing to see a San Antonio neighborhood school making headlines for academic success!

Congratulations to the Brackenridge Eagles, teachers, staff and families! 🦅❤️

There’s no single Latino story. On Día de la Raza, we recognize the Indigenous peoples whose cultures have shaped our communities, even as centuries of colonization sought to erase their histories.

In Puerto Rico, Taíno descendants continue to preserve and reclaim their heritage, from cultural ceremonies to traditions passed down through generations.

These stories are part of American history and deserve to be told. At FRIENDS, we’re working toward a National Museum of the American Latino that reflects the full breadth of our history, including the Indigenous communities that continue to shape it today.

Every January, nonprofits, small businesses and neighborhood groups put on 200+ events across the city. Many of them need two things: a room and a good deal.

🏛️ Have a gallery, a church hall, a classroom, a patio? Offer it in-kind or at a reduced rate for summit events. In-kind space given to DreamGlobal Inc., a 501(c)(3), may be tax-deductible.
