Strength, resilience and possibility come to life through adaptive sports and community. 🏀💙✨

South Texas Regional Adaptive & Para Sports (STRAPS), a program of Morgan’s Sports and YMCA, provides adaptive and Paralympic-style sports for athletes with special needs and disabilities, including wounded service members, Veterans, adults and youth.

Through a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, STRAPS gives athletes of all ages and abilities the opportunity to challenge limits, build confidence and discover what’s possible both on and off the court. Along the way, participants gain independence, camaraderie and a renewed belief in themselves while becoming role models and mentors for others.

Brain Health and Alzheimer’s Awareness Month is a reminder of how important it is to care for the brain at every age and every stage. 🧠💙

Brain health shapes how we think, move, connect and experience the world around us. It also plays a vital role in recovery, independence and quality of life for individuals navigating neurotrauma, neurological conditions and life-altering disabilities.

At Warm Springs Foundation, brain health is at the heart of our mission. We are proud to support partners and programs that expand access to critical resources, compassionate care and life-altering possibilities for individuals and families across our communities.

Kenny Hudnall was only five years old when a motor vehicle accident left him a quadriplegic. Despite the invisible barriers that often come with disability, Kenny found a sense of belonging and community at CAMP (Children's Association for Maximum Potential).

“I get the freedom and autonomy that I don’t often get in my everyday life. I’m the king of CAMP!” – Kenny Hudnall

Andrew McAllister joined the Warm Springs Foundation board after being invited by board chair, Helen Eversberg, who recognized his passion for impact. For the past several years, he has brought both lived experience and bold vision to help shape what is possible for those we serve.

Living with cerebral palsy, Stiff Person Syndrome and a recent spinal cord injury, Andrew understands firsthand the importance of access, innovation and advocacy. As the founder of Believe It Foundation and its adaptive bike program, he is committed to creating opportunities for children with disabilities to move, grow and thrive. He believes Warm Springs Foundation is uniquely positioned to expand its reach, strengthen connections and continue building a future where more people are supported.

“We have the resources to make a real impact; helping a broader amount of people and championing innovative solutions.” – Andrew McAllister

Leaders like Andrew serve and help move our mission forward. But service is not just about giving time; it is about using your voice, your experience and your perspective to create meaningful change.

Memorial Day 🇺🇸

A time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, and to reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom.

We recognize the lasting impact of that service on families, communities and the many Veterans who continue to navigate life after injury, supported by care, rehabilitation and strong community connections.

At Warm Springs Foundation, we are proud to support organizations and programs that provide critical care and resources for Veterans and individuals impacted by life-altering injuries, creating life-altering possibilities for individuals and families across our communities.

Here are a few meaningful moments from our visit at TIRR Memorial Hermann. We spent the day learning, listening and connecting through a tour of their flagship hospital, leadership discussions and a visit to TIRR Outpatient Rehabilitation at Kirby Glen.

TIRR’s mission to empower individuals after life-altering injury or illness through innovative rehabilitation and research truly resonates with us. We left inspired by the hope, independence and possibility being built every day.

Thank you, TIRR Memorial Hermann, for sharing your time, your insight and your heart for this work.

We recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute. While there we enjoyed a presentation and guided tour that gave us a closer look at their personalized approach to brain injury rehabilitation.

Seeing their mission in action, helping patients and families move toward the best possible outcomes was a powerful reminder of the work we do in creating life-altering possibilities.

Thank you, Moody Neuro, for welcoming us and inspiring us.

Mental health impacts millions of individuals and families across the United States. For many adults, these challenges affect daily life, relationships and overall well-being in ways that are often unseen.

Despite how common mental health conditions are, many individuals still do not receive the care they need. Barriers like access to care, cost and stigma continue to prevent people from seeking or receiving support.

At Warm Springs Foundation, we’re proud to support organizations that expand access to adaptive recreation and wellness programs that promote mental well-being, build confidence and foster connection for individuals of all abilities. 💚

Awareness matters. Access matters. Please share to help keep empowerment flowing. ✨
