🍂 STRAC FALL Fest 2026 — Preventing Falls, Preserving Independence 🍂

Falls are a leading cause of injury for adults age 65 and older, but many falls are preventable. Simple steps such as staying active, identifying hazards, maintaining good vision, and properly managing medications can help older adults remain safe, healthy, and independent.

In observance of National Fall Prevention Awareness Day, STRAC invites you to join us for FALL Fest, a community event focused on fall prevention, education, and resources for older adults and their families.

Yesterday, on April 29, 2026, we hosted our annual Hot Car Safety Awareness Event at the STRAC office—bringing together local health systems, EMS agencies, and community partners with one shared mission: saving lives through awareness and prevention.

Every year, tragedies occur when children, elderly individuals, and pets are left unattended in vehicles—even for just a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can rise rapidly, creating life-threatening conditions faster than many people realize.

Through this event, our partners helped educate the community on:

The dangers of heat exposure inside vehicles
Simple prevention strategies to avoid accidental incidents
How to take action if you see someone in distress in a parked car

This collaboration reflects the power of our region working together to protect our most vulnerable populations.
