🤱🏽 As Breastfeeding Month comes to a close, CommuniCare WIC celebrates the families who have allowed us to be part of their feeding journeys.

Breastfeeding is different for every family. Whether a parent breastfeeds, pumps, combines breast milk and formula, or changes their feeding plan along the way, every family deserves accurate and evidence based information, encouragement, and support without judgment.

We are proud to continue providing breastfeeding education and lactation support to help families make informed decisions and reach their own feeding goals.

Thank you to the families we serve and to our dedicated WIC staff for making breastfeeding support a priority, not just this month, but all year long.

Breastfeeding Month may be ending, but the support continues.

What an incredible recognition to receive while celebrating Breastfeeding Month. 💙

We are incredibly honored to share that CommuniCare WIC has been recognized with the 2026 WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence – Gold for Exemplary Breastfeeding Support and Practices.

This award presented to our WIC team reflects the dedication, compassion, knowledge, and teamwork that goes into supporting families every day.

Breastfeeding support is so much more than providing information. It’s about listening without judgment, meeting families where they are, respecting their individual goals, and helping them feel confident and supported in whatever their feeding journey looks like.

This recognition is a reflection of the many people behind the scenes and on the front lines who make that support possible, from our Peer Counselors and IBCLC to our RD and Nutritionist team as well as our WCS staff and Leadership, every team member who helps create a welcoming environment for families.

Most importantly, this award represents the families we have the privilege of serving. Their trust, their stories, their questions, their challenges, and their successes are at the heart of why we do what we do.

We are proud of what we have accomplished together, grateful for the families who allow us to be part of their journeys and honored to continue building a culture where every family feels supported.

We love what we do and will continue to educate, empower, and support families on meeting their individual feeding goals.

Breast milk provides babies with a combination of nutrients, antibodies, and other protective components that support growth and help build a strong foundation for health. It can help reduce the risk of respiratory infections, GI infections, allergies, asthma, ear infections, and SIDS.

There’s no one-size-fits-all breastfeeding experience. Every family has their own story, and every journey deserves encouragement, compassion, and support. We are here to provide education and help promote informed feeding decisions so that you can make and reach your feeding goals.
