One of the things that matters most to me when choosing speakers for Menopause Mijas is finding experts who not only have the credentials, but who truly understand how important it is for women to feel heard.

That's why I'm so excited to welcome Dr. Carolina Praderio, MD to Becoming Her: Mental Wellness in Midlife.

Dr. Praderio is a board-certified OB-GYN and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner who has been caring for women in South Texas for nearly 15 years. Originally from Argentina and fluent in both English and Spanish, she has dedicated her career to helping women navigate menopause, hormone health, and sexual wellness with compassion and evidence-based care.

What stood out to me most is her belief that women deserve a safe space to talk openly about the symptoms, concerns, and life changes that are often overlooked or dismissed. Her approach is centered on education, empowerment, and helping women feel confident in taking control of their health at every age.

I know so many of you are looking for answers, support, and trusted information, and I can't wait for you to learn from her.

Another perimenopause update... 💜

I officially switched from the estradiol patch to estradiol gel.

A few reasons why I decided to make the switch:

✔️ The patches have been difficult to find consistently

✔️ No more sticky residue

✔️ No adhesive-related skin irritation

✔️ No worrying about a patch peeling off

✔️ Some women report less breast tenderness

The biggest downside?

❌ Daily application instead of twice a week

For me, that's a trade-off I'm willing to make if it means I can consistently get my medication and avoid some of the patch frustrations.

As always, this is just my personal experience—not medical advice. Every woman's body is different.
