As a postdoc, it was always my dream to write a https://www.healthaffairs.org/content/forefront/we-public-health-workforcepublication for Health Affairs journal.
When this opportunity came along, it wasn’t what I envisioned, but the mission was important to me.

The call to transform public health is a decision that some of us cannot ignore, and I am pleased to be among this group.

Our publication has just been released:

“We, the authors, are “boots-on-the-ground” public health workers who are most affected by the challenges of this work—including its stress and trauma. We are epidemiologists, data and policy analysts, program managers and evaluators, veterinarians, informaticians, communications specialists, leaders of community nonprofits, and more. Many of our colleagues have already left the field or are barely hanging on. We are growing impatient with continuing obstacles to developing our workforce, due to fragmented responsibilities and the siloed nature of public health in the US, leading to bureaucratic impediments to progress.”
