This is for you, the people who have always felt that life was never in your favor.

The "Getting Better" audiobook podcast series is about the importance of one's mental wellness and overcoming trauma and adversity in life. This audiobook podcast series is specially narrated for those who are hurting and struggling in life but have made the decision to get better, bit by bit, day by day. This particular episode is a narration of Jordan Peterson's now famous commencement speech at Hillsdale College, titled "At A Crossroads".

Trauma, adversity and hardship come in different forms and manifest differently in different situations. In this series, I will be taking you on a journey of healing and will be narrating the speeches from world renowned clinical psychologists, researchers, cognitive science experts, mental health advocates, financial writers and also the ordinary people who had survived and have risen above their own crises and catastrophes.

This entire audiobook series is a manifestation of the things that I truly believe in. Philosophy, psychology, spirituality, art and knowledge are fundamentally crucial as it drives and empowers the human spirit. The lessons in these lectures has helped me during the darkest hours of my life, and I hoped it would help you too.

This is my gift to you, and I hope it would help you move forward with life, wherever you may be.

👋😁Hey, Thank you for sharing with your friends and family. I'm aware that they aren't just giving us this type of resource voluntarily so the only way for us to figure it out is by helping one another. I understand alot of you are inboxing me & posting your interest and I hate that I actually maybe missing someone due to getting lost in the notification jumble. Here's to inquiring minds, Find out from the tag office where to find the form to apply for a placard. I found mine on the website affiliated with my county.. Fill out your part, get the pediatrician to fill out their part (I emailed my form to my pediatricians office, which verifies the disability) then take the completed form to the tag registration office and they'll give you the placard. Don't let anyone make you feel like this isn't legit. They consider autistic kids a flight risk and that's what makes them eligible for the placard. It's not the handicap tag, just the placard. It also can move to any vehicle that the child is occupying. It's free and only needs to be replaced every 2 years. I apologize for having to turn off commentary but I don't like the bully type behaviors going on. Good luck everyone and thank you for spreading awareness 😘

October is SPD awareness month. I know we have some families here with this as well as ASD so I thought I would share this.

The Misunderstood Child

I am the child that looks healthy and fine.
I was born with ten fingers and toes.
But something is different. somewhere in my mind.
And what it is nobody knows.

I am the child that struggles at school,
Though they say that I’m perfectly smart.
They tell me I’m lazy-can learn if I try-
But I don’t seem to know where to start.

I am the child that won’t wear the clothes
which hurt me or bother my feet.
I dread sudden noises, can’t handle most smells,
And tastes- there are few foods I will eat.

I am the child that can’t catch the ball
And runs with an awkward gait.
I am the one chosen last on the team
And I cringe as I stand there and wait.

I am the child with whome know one will play-
The one that gets bullied and teased.
I try to fit in and I want to be liked,
But nothing I do seems to please.

I am the child that tantrums and freaks
Over things that seem petty and trite.
You’ll never know how I panic inside,
When I’m lost in my anger and fright.

I am the child that fidgets and squirms
Though I’m told to sit still and be good.
Do you think that I choose to be out of control?
Don’t you know that I would if I could?

I am the child with the broken heart
Though I act like I don't really care.
Perhaps there’s a reason God made me this way-
Some message he sent me to share.

For I am the child that needs to be loved
And accepted and valued too.
I am the child that is misunderstood,
I am different-but look just like you.
