not enough people talk about what postpartum actually does to your hormones and how freaking hard it can be to come out of the trenches and see your body drastically change
your cortisol is elevated, your estrogen is rock bottom, you’re in true survival mode, and we wonder why it’s so hard to just “lose the baby weight” (for so many of us)
this 2nd time around postpartum, I stopped trying to out-discipline my hormones and started supporting them more intentionally… and everything clicked!
no calorie counting, no macro tracking, no intense workouts and no obsessing/stressing about food & “bouncing back”
I have so enjoyed this period of finding myself and getting comfortable in my body again (not perfect, comfortable) and I spent a lot of time writing out everything I did to get back to feeling great by 4 months postpartum this time (disclaimer: I don’t want to discount the fact that it has not been easy and every day and week postpartum is different…. a wild ride!!!)
