Falling apart and falling forward look identical from the inside.
Here’s how to tell the difference.
Three signs your breakdown is actually a 1. Nothing feels certain anymore.

1.Certainty is comfort. Comfort is stagnation. The moment everything feels up in the air is usually the moment you’ve outgrown the container you’ve been living in.

2. Your relationships are shifting.
Some people are pulling away. Some conversations feel hollow. Some connections that used to feel safe now feel small. You’re not losing people. You’re changing frequency.

3. You’re exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix.
That bone-deep tired isn’t burnout. It’s transformation. Your nervous system is rewiring. Your identity is restructuring. Rest. But don’t confuse the cost of growth for a sign to stop.

Keep going! We know it can feel really difficult and exhausting in moments but you’re doing great! This is your breakthrough not a breakdown.

You’re not broken for overthinking everything. Your brain is literally doing its job…

The problem? Your brain can’t tell the difference between what’s safe and what’s just familiar.

So it keeps looping.
Keeps analyzing.
Keeps trying to think its way to solid ground.

But here’s what nobody taught you:
you can’t think your way out of overthinking.
You have to feel your way out.
Most of us were never shown how to drop a thought down into the body — to actually feel it, move through it, and clear it. So instead, the loop stays in the head. Spinning. Searching for safety in logic and analysis that never quite lands.
The shift happens when you become aware of your body. When you notice what’s actually being held in your chest, your gut, your throat. When you stop trying to make sense of it logically and start feeling it somatically.
Feel it.
Clear it.
Then create a thought from that cleared space.
That’s the work. That’s the practice.

Getting cut off in traffic during rush hour. Having to work for a boss who doesn’t truly see you. Having a day where your partner just isn’t listening and being present with you. Hearing the cashier tell you the total of your grocery bill…..

It all piles on, slowly but consistently… and suddenly you feel it.
Feeling engulfed and completely overwhelmed.

But here’s the thing- you can’t think, rationalize or escape the overwhelm. You must feel it then gain awareness of a different perspective.

Here’s a quick 60 seconds method to support you in these moments.

1. Pause and Notice. Simply OBSERVE what you’re feeling, where your mind is running and looping
2. Separate. You are NOT your feelings. You are NOT your thoughts. Create space between who you are and what you are experiencing.
3. Zoom out. When you feel overwhelmed it can often feel endless, like it will never stop…but it will. This is one tiny little frame within the very long, very full story of your life. Practice pulling your awareness 30,000 feet above you into space.
4. Take a breath. Move your body and know everything is working out for you.

This can take all of 60 seconds. Next time you’re overwhelmed give yourself 1 minute to go through these 4 steps. You got it❤️

Truly….when was the last time you allowed yourself to slow down, even just for a moment, witness yourself and rest in the moment?

Growth and expansion in your life requires moments and even seasons of rest, of listening and dare I even say “Sloth energy”.
If you’ve been go go go go go and haven’t taken a moment, a day, a week to pause to world to listen to your heart then this is your reminder and invitation to take that time for yourself.
