September is Healthy Aging Month, and to us, aging gracefully starts with understanding what's actually happening beneath the surface, not fighting against it.

As you age, collagen and elastin production slows, facial muscles weaken, gravity does its part, and volume shifts. Add sun exposure and years of expression lines, and it's no surprise our faces change the way they do.

None of this is about chasing youth. It's about knowing your options so you can choose what's right for you, on your own timeline.

If you've been curious what's behind the changes you're noticing, or what your options look like, schedule a consultation through the link below.

At 60, this patient wanted to look like a rested, refreshed version of herself, not someone new. We combined a deep plane face and neck lift with fat grafting to the cheeks and skin resurfacing to restore volume, redefine the jawline, and renew skin texture, all in a single, comprehensive plan.

What stands out most here is how natural the result reads. A softer jawline, a more defined neck, and skin that looks genuinely renewed rather than pulled or stretched.

Every face ages differently, which is why a tailored combination of procedures often better aligns with a patient's goals than any single treatment on its own.

You may have heard of a deep plane face lift. But have you heard of the PoSH Lift?

The PoSH Lift is my signature face lift technique: a customized variant of the deep plane approach that goes beyond lifting skin to address the deeper structural layers of the face. The result is more durable, more natural, and more comprehensive than traditional face lift techniques, with a recovery process designed to be as seamless as possible for my patients.

Every element of the PoSH Lift was developed with the patient in mind, from personalized surgical planning to a rapid-healing protocol that eliminates the need for drains, staples, and suture removal.

Age is not a disqualifier!

What determines candidacy for facial rejuvenation is overall health, anatomy, and a thorough, individualized surgical plan, not a number. For the right patient, the deep plane technique can achieve results that are both dramatic and entirely natural, regardless of age.

Here, the structural changes speak for themselves: a defined jawline and neck, restored volume through the cheeks and temples, and an overall result that looks refreshed without looking altered. She looks like herself, only rested and restored.

This is what thoughtful facial rejuvenation looks like at every stage of life.

This 69-year-old patient underwent a deep plane face and neck lift, fat grafting to the cheeks, upper and lower blepharoplasty, bilateral ptosis repair, and postoperative skin resurfacing.

A few things worth noting in this case. Ptosis repair (correction of drooping upper eyelids caused by a weakened levator muscle) is as much a functional procedure as an aesthetic one, and when combined with blepharoplasty, the difference in eye openness and alertness is significant.

The skin resurfacing addresses texture and tone at the surface level, refining what the surgical work has lifted and restored underneath.
The result is comprehensive in the truest sense: structure, volume, eyes, and skin all addressed in harmony.

The relationship doesn't end when surgery does.

From the moment you're out of the operating room, our team is with you. Weekly visits early in recovery, then monthly check-ins for up to a year, sometimes beyond. We build real relationships with our patients, and we take pride in being available as much as you need us.

Our follow-up appointments are also where we capture your before and after photos in a dedicated professional photography room, because we take documentation seriously. The photos matter!

And of course, once you're part of the practice, you're always welcome back, whether that's for a touch-up, microneedling, a peel, or just to check in.

This is what continuity of care looks like. To learn more or schedule a consultation: https://bolithomd.com/contact/

This 62-year-old patient is shown two years following a face and neck lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and fat transfer to the cheeks.

What makes this case particularly noteworthy is that she lost 30 pounds postoperatively, yet the grafted fat in the cheeks has remained intact.

This is a question that comes up often in consultations. Patients want to know whether fat grafting will hold if their weight changes. This result is a compelling answer. When fat grafting is performed with precision and integrates successfully, it behaves as living tissue, and in many cases, demonstrates remarkable resilience even through significant body changes.

Two years out, the jawline, neck, eyes, and cheek volume all remain refined and natural. That's the goal every time.

This 61-year-old patient underwent a deep plane face and neck lift, bilateral upper and lower blepharoplasty, and fat grafting to the cheeks and temporal fossae.

What this case illustrates well is the importance of addressing volume alongside structure. The deep plane lift restores the jawline and neck, the blepharoplasty refreshes the eyes, but it's the fat grafting to the cheeks and temples that completes the picture, restoring the fullness that naturally diminishes with age and giving the result its softness and balance.

The results ARE the study.

Facial fat grafting is one of the most underappreciated tools in facial rejuvenation, not just for the volume it restores, but for how naturally and how long it holds.

When it's done well and integrated into a comprehensive plan, the results don't just look good at six months. They hold up at six years, even at twelve years, like this patient.

Every face loses volume differently as it ages, and restoring that volume in the right places is what separates a refreshed result from one that looks operated on.
