One month.

That's how long we've been showing up here together — and something has shifted.

More conversations. More questions. More people reaching out and saying "I needed to hear this."

That tells me something important: you're paying attention to your body. You're thinking about it differently. And that matters.

Starting this week I'm going even deeper — more behind the scenes, more real talk about what bodywork actually does, and more ways for us to connect directly.

But first — this week's schedule has a few openings left and I'd love to fill them with someone from this community.

If you've been reading these posts and something has resonated — this is your moment.

Your body has been patient. Let's reward it. 💪

Something a little different today.

I want to say thank you.

To every client who has trusted me with their body over the past 18 years — thank you. You've taught me as much as any course or certification ever could.👨🏽‍🏫

To everyone who has been following along here recently, engaging, asking questions, sharing these posts — thank you. Building this community means more than you know.🥰

And to the people who've been on the fence about booking — I see you. No pressure. I'll be here when you're ready.

This work is a privilege. Every single session.

If you've worked with me before and felt comfortable doing so, I'd love for you to share what your experience has been like in the comments. Not a formal review — just your honest words.

For anyone who hasn't yet — I'd love to change that soon. 🙏

Most people think massage is about muscles.

It's actually about communication.

Here's what I mean:

Your body runs on a constant feedback loop between your brain and your nervous system. When you're chronically stressed, injured, or holding tension — that communication gets distorted. Your brain starts receiving inaccurate signals about where you are in space, how much tension to hold, and what's "normal."

This is why chronic tension often doesn't resolve on its own even when the original cause is gone. Your nervous system has learned a new (dysfunctional) baseline.

Therapeutic massage works by introducing new sensory input into that feedback loop — essentially giving your nervous system updated, accurate information about what safe and relaxed actually feel like.

Over time, with consistent work, your body recalibrates to a healthier baseline.

That's not magic. That's neuroscience.

And it's why one session feels great but consistent sessions create lasting change.

Save this one — it's worth coming back to. 💾

Okay I have to ask this because it comes up more than you'd think. 😄

What's your biggest hesitation🫣 about booking a massage?

Be honest — I feel like I've heard it all:
😅 "I don't want to be awkward about the draping"
💸 "It feels like a luxury I can't justify"
⏰ "I can never find the time"
🤔 "I don't know if it would actually help MY situation"
😬 "I feel weird about a stranger touching me"

Drop yours in the comments — no judgment whatsoever.

Because here's the thing: whatever your hesitation is, it's valid. AND it's probably something we can talk through in about two minutes.

I'd rather you ask the awkward question than stay home with a tight neck. 😊
(Seriously though — drop it. Let's normalize the conversation.)

I've been thinking a lot lately about why people wait.

Wait to book that appointment. Wait until the pain gets bad enough. Wait until life slows down. Wait until they feel like they've "earned" it.

I did it too — early in my practice I thought self-care was something you fit in around everything else.

18 years later I understand it differently.

The people I see thriving — genuinely thriving, not just surviving — treat their body's maintenance the same way they treat everything else that matters to them.

They don't wait. They schedule. They show up. They make it non-negotiable.
Not because they have more time than everyone else.

Because they've learned what it costs when they don't.

Your body is the only place you have to live. Every single day.

What would change if you stopped waiting?

We're heading into a new week and I want to check in with you.

How's your body doing — honestly?

Not "fine." Not "managing." Actually doing.

Because if the answer is anything less than good — if you're tight, tired, wired, or worn down — I want you to know that's not just how it has to be.

I have openings this week. Real ones. And I'd love to spend one of those hours with you.

Here's my promise to you: You will leave feeling different than when you walked in.

More space in your body.
More ease in your breath.
More YOU.

18 years of practice behind that promise. 🙏

She's a teacher. On her feet all day, managing 20 adult students, carrying the emotional weight of a classroom on top of everything else at home.

She booked with me because her lower back had gotten to the point where she was taking ibuprofen just to get through the school day.

She wasn't looking for luxury. She was looking for relief.

Three sessions in — no more daily ibuprofen. She now books once a month like clockwork.

Last time she was in she said something that stuck with me: "This is the one hour a week that's completely mine. Nobody needs anything from me. I just get to exist."

That hit me.

Because that's what so many people are missing — not just physical relief, but genuine permission to take up space for themselves.

Teachers, nurses, parents, caregivers — the people who give the most are often the last ones to receive.

If that's you, this post is your invitation.
You've earned this.

The biggest misconception I encounter after 18 years?

"If I'm not in pain, I don't need a massage."

Here's what I want you to understand about how your body actually works:
By the time pain shows up — it's a late signal.

Pain is your body's last resort communication. It's been sending quieter messages for weeks or months before that. Stiffness. Fatigue. Disrupted sleep. Reduced range of motion. Irritability. Brain fog.

Sound familiar?🤔

Those aren't random. Those are your body in the early stages of compensation — working around restrictions and imbalances that haven't become "painful" yet.
Regular therapeutic massage catches those patterns before they become problems.

Think of it like dental cleanings. You don't wait until you have a cavity to see the dentist. You go regularly to prevent one.

Your body deserves the same logic.

💡 Pro tip: Monthly sessions are enough to maintain most people. Bi-weekly if you're dealing with active stress or physical demands.

What questions do you have about building a regular bodywork practice? Drop them below — I read every single one.

I want to ask you something and I genuinely want to know your answer. 👇
Where does YOUR body hold stress?

For most people it’s one of these:
😤 Neck and shoulders
😬 Jaw (TMJ tension)
😔 Lower back
🤯 Behind the eyes / headaches
😮‍💨 Chest tightness / shallow breathing

Drop your emoji-answer in the comments. You might be surprised how many people are carrying the exact same thing.

And if you’ve never thought about it before — that’s worth paying attention to too.
(P.S. — whichever one you pick, I’ve worked with it. A lot. 😄)

I remember the first time I truly understood what I was doing.

I was maybe two years into practice. A woman came in — late 30s, referred by her doctor for chronic back pain she’d been managing for almost a decade.

She’d seen specialists. Done physical therapy. Tried injections. Nothing gave her lasting relief.

We worked together for four sessions.

On her fifth visit she sat up from the table, paused, and said — “I don’t know what you’re doing differently. But I feel like I got my life back.”

I went home that night and sat with that for a long time. Because I realized — I wasn’t just releasing muscle tension. I was helping her body remember a version of itself it had almost forgotten existed. That’s what this work is at its deepest level.

Not pain management.
Not relaxation.
Restoration.

If your body has forgotten what it feels like to be at ease — I’d be honored to help you remember.
