A few months ago I shared that I had found the perfect kitchen and would be resuming bone broth production as soon as possible.
2 - 3 months into my planning, and a long story later we realized that for a variety of legalities you didn’t even know existed, we could not resume production from this kitchen.
As you might imagine this was quite a blow and put me exhaustingly, back at squats one. I have a plan b in place that will end up working out much better in the long run for broth making, but that place is about a year out from existing.
In the time that I had been in the midst of all my planning, I had been simultaneously working for the Alpha Project.
The Alpha Project is a 30 year old non profit located here in San Diego that specializes in a variety of homeless outreach programs.
Life has a funny way of working itself out and I found myself in a very happy place working for this organization.
So 2 weeks ago I accepted an offer from them to act as their Program Manager for their upcoming Food Program. We are now in charge of feeding 500 people a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
AND I AM GOING TO PUT BONE BROTH IN EVERYTHING.
So, while I’m not following my exact plan, I am doing something I feel is worthwhile and beneficial to those who need it most.
As all of this came to light, I found a letter my Great Grandfather had written to my Mom a year before I was born (pictured above).
40 years later his words could not ring more true.
Thanks for being here.
