Ever notice how a conversation about your feelings with your emotionally immature parents almost always ends with you having to listen about theirs?

Emotionally immature parents rarely have the capacity to take real accountability.

Instead, they deflect, talk about their trauma or past, guilt you for putting this on them or just deny everything.

At we do a lot of work around complex trauma and these challenging/frustrating interactions and conversations with parents who were unable to love and care for us in the way we needed them.

If this resonates—you are not alone ❤️

Sometimes healing involves recognizing that your caregiver lacks the capacity to give you the conversation you deserve.

Coping skills absolutely have their place.

Coping is a powerful skill—and it’s often how we survive when life is overwhelming or when we don’t feel safe.

But if you’re ready to move beyond “managing,” trauma informed and trauma focused therapy can help you get to and heal at the root.

We help adults and teens unlearn survival patterns and reconnect with safety, self-worth and authentic connection.

If you’re constantly exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, or feel like you’re carrying everyone else on your back… this might be more than stress.

Many people who struggle with chronic people pleasing, overfunctioning, and burnout learned early on that being “helpful,” “easy,” or “the strong one” was how they stayed safe, needed, or loved.

But over time, constantly taking care of everyone else can take a toll on your mental and physical health.

Healing is not just about “doing less.”

It’s about learning that your worth does not depend on how much you sacrifice yourself for others.

You deserve:
- rest without guilt
- relationships that feel reciprocal
- boundaries that are respected
- support, not just responsibility
- a nervous system that isn’t always in survival mode

Which one hit hardest for you? 👇

And if you’re trying to heal from people pleasing, complex trauma, or emotional burnout, follow for more trauma-informed mental health content.

You can’t “think” your way out of trauma — and that’s not your fault ❤️

CBT can be incredibly helpful for anxiety, depression, and shifting thought patterns…

But trauma isn’t only stored in the mind. It’s held in the nervous system. In the body—And then manifests In survival responses that don’t simply disappear through logic alone.

If you’ve felt stuck or like therapy “isn’t working,” it may not be you.

Healing often requires approaches that address both the brain and the body — like EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS/Parts Work, and other trauma-focused modalities.

✨ You deserve support that helps you move beyond survival and into true recovery.

Your 30s and 40s can feel surprisingly full and painfully lonely at the same time.

You may finally know yourself more deeply, feel more grounded, and care less about outside validation… while also grieving friendships that changed, relationships that ended, or the life you thought you’d have by now.

Loneliness in this season doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It often means your life is evolving.

If this resonates with you, our newest blog explores why this stage of life can feel both empowering and isolating—and what to do with those emotions instead of judging yourself for them.

Today’s Tuesday Tip 🥁🥁🥁🥁…

Ask yourself what you REALLY need.

So many of us live in “I should…”

Especially when we are inundated with content telling us we are doing things “wrong” or need to do more—like an elaborate morning routine 😏😏😏

So we start telling ourselves…

“I should be more productive.”
“I should text back.
“I should get over it.”

But “should” usually comes from pressure, conditioning, or a part of you trying to keep things under control.

What if you paused instead?

And asked: “what do I actually need right now?”

Maybe it’s rest.
Maybe it’s space.
Maybe it’s reassurance.
Maybe it’s to not respond right away.

Your needs don’t make you weak—they are crucial for your functioning and mental health.

And every time you meet yourself in that way, you start reinforcing something deeper:

“I matter.”
“My needs are important.”

Start small.

A small, intentional change can make a real difference ❤️☀️🌊
