Another day of extreme heat means we will be cancelling our GiGiMove Fitness Adult Program today @ 6:00pm here at the Playhouse🥵

San Diego continues to be on an Extreme Heat Advisory for the next few days. We encourage all to stay cool and hydrated out there!
Here are a few safety tips
* Check out San Diego Cool Zones via google
* Check in on friends who may have heat sensitivity
* Limit physical activity as necessary
* If you observe or feel any sign of heat exhaustion be sure to seek assistance

Celebrating Four Years of Rissa at GiGi's San Diego! 💙

After four years of serving our Playhouse, Rissa will be saying goodbye to GiGi's Playhouse San Diego, with her last day on September 19.

Over the years, Rissa has been part of countless programs, events, family connections, volunteer relationships, and special moments within our Playhouse. We are grateful for the time and care she has given to our participants, families, volunteers, and community.

As Rissa moves toward new goals and opportunities, we want her to know how much her four years of service to GiGi's Playhouse San Diego are appreciated.

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Scott! 🌟

At GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego, our volunteer tutors do so much more than work on math and literacy skills. Through individualized attention, repetition and encouragement, 1-on-1 tutoring gives individuals with Down syndrome the opportunity to learn at their own pace, build confidence and celebrate every step of progress.

For volunteer tutor Scott, those moments of progress are what make the experience so meaningful. 💙💛

💬 “My favorite part of tutoring at GiGi’s is seeing the effort given by my students and the look they get when they get something. I only hope my students got as much out of our sessions as I did.”

We are so grateful for volunteers like Scott who give their time, encouragement and talents to help our participants learn, grow and reach their goals.
