Prop 44 would cut $1.7 billion from California’s community health clinics in the first year alone, threatening access to care for millions of patients across the state.

According to a recent CalMatters.org commentary by California Academy of Family Physicians President-elect Dr. Brent Sugimoto, the measure could force clinics to reduce services, delay critical investments, and put essential safety-net care at risk for more than 7 million Californians who rely on community health centers each year.
