"I'm giving them solids, so why are they still waking up?!" 🥱

If you’ve found yourself asking this at 3:00 a.m., you are definitely not alone.

Many parents are told that introducing solid foods is the magic ticket to a full night's rest. But here’s what’s actually happening behind the scenes: early solids don't pack the same caloric punch as breast milk or formula. If your little one fills up on veggies and scales back on milk, they might actually end up with a calorie deficit by bedtime.

Remember: Solids are for exploration. They are not a quick-fix sleep solution.

If you are utterly exhausted and doing everything "right" but still staring at the ceiling at 2:00 a.m., I promise you there is an actual reason—and an actual fix. You don't have to figure this out alone.

Check out my latest blog post where I unpack the deep connection between feeding and sleep, and how to get your nights back on track. 👇

If solids actually made babies sleep through the night… every 6 month old would be sleeping 12 hours straight. 😅

“You should add cereal to the bottle so baby sleeps longer.”

Respectfully… no.

Your baby’s brain runs on the fat, protein, and carbohydrates found in breast milk or formula.

One tablespoon of puree is not nutritionally competing with that.

If your baby is still waking multiple times a night, starting solids is very unlikely to suddenly change sleep.

The real reason babies wake frequently is usually much deeper than hunger alone

Here is the Complete Guide on if feeding hasn't been looked at as part of the equation, you're trying to solve half a puzzle.

Your baby probably CAN sleep.
They just haven’t learned HOW yet. 🤍

Babies don’t magically connect sleep cycles on their own.
And sleep training feels impossible when:
• your baby is overtired
• feeding patterns are off
• naps are inconsistent
• bedtime changes every night
• they rely on rocking/feeding to fall asleep

That’s why quick fixes fail.

Better sleep starts with understanding the why behind the wakings — not just trying random sleep hacks from TikTok at 2 a.m. 😅

The good news? Sleep skills can be taught gently.

Most parents don’t fail at sleep training…
They start at the wrong place.

After trying everything, it’s easy to believe:
“My baby is just different.”
“Nothing works for us.”
“Maybe this is just how life will be now.”

But here’s what’s often missed 👇

Sleep training isn’t just one step—it’s two phases.

And most people jump straight into Phase 2…
without ever building Phase 1.

Phase 1 is the foundation:
• Age-appropriate wake windows
• Enough daytime feeding (so night waking isn’t hunger)
• A sleep environment that actually supports rest

Without this, no method will stick.

One family I worked with had an 8-month-old waking 8 times a night.
We didn’t start sleep training.

We fixed the foundation first.

And everything changed.

Your baby isn’t the problem.
The timing might be.

Stop fighting your baby’s biology and start working WITH it. 💤

After working with over 1,000 families, I see the same mistake on repeat: skipping straight to Phase 2 (the behavioral part) without doing the "Phase 1" Foundation work.

If Phase 1 is missing, you’re asking your baby to sleep when their body literally isn't ready. That’s why it feels like an uphill battle. When you align their schedule and feedings with their actual development, Phase 2 happens faster and with significantly less crying.

Exhausted. Confused. Googling baby sleep at 2AM?

You’re not alone—and more importantly, you’re not doing anything wrong.

Most sleep advice focuses on quick fixes…
But real, lasting sleep comes from understanding why your baby wakes—and fixing the root, not just the symptoms.

✨ No cry-it-out
✨ No one-size-fits-all schedules
✨ A gentle, holistic system that actually works

After helping 1,000+ families, this method shows how sleep, feeding, routines, and development all connect—so your baby can learn to sleep naturally and sustainably. ()

If your baby:
• Wakes every 1–2 hours
• Needs rocking/feeding to sleep
• Fights naps or bedtime

This will change how you see sleep—completely.
